I’ve wanted to eat at the Webster since I moved to Iowa City. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. They brought over the sommelier who recommended a great wine based off our meal and palate. Be prepared to order your entire meal at one time, but the delivery of items was so well timed that everything came out at the perfect temperature and the perfect time. Aerin, Riene, and chef Sam delivered an exquisite meal and presentation

A stellar addition to Iowa City’s strong dining scene, The Webster shines in all categories every time I visit: service, selection, quality of ingredients and taste.

Decent food and drinks that are incredibly over inflated. Where the restaurant really lack is in service. Takes forever to get your food and beverages, especially if you don’t fit into their preferred type of patron. After sitting at our table for over 2 hours, due to the fact it took forever for our food to arrive, we were asked to move to the bar. At that point something seemed off. The bar was louder and more obnoxious that the restaurant. We were finally able to call it a night after that odd experience. We were well dressed and trying to quietly celebrate a special occasion. We obviously did not fit into their box of what an ideal patron looks like.

We ate with a party of seven and we’re able to get in for a table at 7:30 PM. One of our friends previously did the 14 course meal for their anniversary and raved about the food. We leaned later they paid $700 for the experience and if I would have looked at the menu and prices, I would have strongly recommended going elsewhere. While there were some dishes that were tasty (ox tail pasta, potato salad, and biscuits), none of the food was overwhelmingly delicious for the price. The only thing that really sets this place apart is the waitstaff were excellent- they always made sure we had clean plates and utensils and did make sure we knew what items came out for the table. However, atmosphere and great service did not equate a $650 + tip bill. Good to try once but I wouldn’t be a regular customer until I hit the lottery.

A true culinary experience. Upscale, creative, and always a new adventure. This is the place to pop in for elevated cocktails and nibbles – and to host good friends on a special occasion. Or just because it’s Wednesday. The food is phenomenal, the service is exceptional, easy parking, and the food will always leave you wanting more. Arguably the best place to eat in Iowa City.

Fantastic food and cocktails, among the best I’ve experienced in Iowa. The flavors were unique and you could tell the dishes were prepared with fine ingredients. Highlights were the biscuits with ham appetizer, chicken entree and “potato salad” side. The cocktail name is escaping me but was it was perfection! We’ll definitely be back!

Attentive service and out-of-this-world flavor. The prime rib was buttery and had the most delectable crust. The wings were unique and addictive and the tartare was light, slightly sweet, and smokey. Couldn’t have asked for anything to be better.

As other reviews have mentioned, the restaurant really sells an experience. Fortunately the food is also very good. All around a solid addition to what is otherwise a sparse fine dining landscape in Iowa City.
