Great Environment, Great Hospitality, Great Food , Food did take some time but great food will take a long time to perfect .. The white rice with the red beans are so delicious. Fried Fish and Fried Shrimp is a must try and make sure you don’t forget to get The Uptown to wash all the food down and finish off with the Strawberry Cheesecake… I’ll be back you’re favorite reviewer Ariii

I can’t comment on the atmosphere. We had the weekend spot cater an event for us. Set up service and clean up. All of the food was amazing. The service was just as good. The fried chicken, fish colllard greens and mac and cheese was flavorful and moist. I can’t wait to visit again.

I will definitely be back the food was amazing and I’m really finicky about what I eat…I ordered a bunch of food because I wanted to try everything really. My friend and I pulled over just to try the fish but it was so good I couldn’t stop there I opened the smothered turkey chop that took me over the edge the mac & cheese was everything the turkey wings was God sent the cornbread baby…the staff was amazing they were warm and friendly the young man even helped me to my car which is rare…I’ll definitely be there today…

I was near the area and wanted to give this place a try. I ordered online the southern baked chicken, collard and cabbage mix and yellow rice and it said about 30 to 40 minutes and it came to $14.66. I arrived at the restaurant about 20 minutes later and walked in and a few people were waiting. The nice young man Jay said it wasn’t ready. As I waiting the line got longer and longer. I waited about 40 more minutes for my food. The wait was ridiculous and the communication was terrible. Yes the server was very nice but that wait will keep me from returning. When it was done I grabbed my food and uptown and left.

I ate at the Weekend Spot restaurant many times before and it was really good and authentic soul food with a Latin flare. I saw these nasty reviews by Black patrons at a Black Female owned restaurant and wasn’t happy how our community does this to our establishments. I went back and ordered 3 meals and just like usual, there was a wait but the food was great as usual. I never mind waiting for food made to order.

This place can be hit or miss. When it’s good, it’s amazing and when it’s not it’s disappointing. They do make the food fresh which I appreciate. The drawback with that however is that they do take a long time with the food. Even when they give you an estimated time, it’s inaccurate. Be prepared to wait close to an hour or even longer for your food even if they say 30min. Following directions can be an issue as well. For instance, you might ask for white meat and they may give you dark. The service is very friendly overall so I do like the place, but it does come with a few kinks.

Yes, the service can be slow depending on what time of day you go but man, the freshness of the food is there. You can tell so nope, I don’t mind waiting. Besides the food, it is the juices in the veggies, the flavorful gravies, and that chocolate crunch cake. POW!!!

As hungry out of towners we Googled nearby eateries The Weekend Spot was the closest and first on the list, when we arrive ..we noticed you couldn’t dine in..we were a little bummed by that and the young lady at the register ( who we didn’t know was the owner) humbly said,” if your looking for Dine in you can go “Vondus”. My husband immediately said no,no, we here now and we are very hungry so she kindly pointed us to the menu and we ordered Meatloaf with Macand cheese and Garlic Mash ,also some cornbread and buttered corn.And to drink strawberry lemonade and water. We waited about 20 minutes… in our car right outside…but may I tell you this was worth the wait..The food was amazing..Bussing as the youngin say today ..everything we ordered was delicious soo good my husband said you better go back in and let them know how delicious everything was and I did ..I walked right in and said your food was Slammin!!!!!..she was soo humbled she thanked me very much and I said no thank you for making great food!! May God continue her blessings. You won’t be disappointed!!! Wish I had pictures but we were starving we dug right in.
