I like this place a lot. I ordered the serrano ham and potato leek soup. Both were yummy but both were also very heavy on the olive oil.. It’s kind of like the high-end version of restaurants who just add a lot of salt or sugar to food. There must be a balance with the amount of olive oil as well.

Wonderful dining experience at The Whale Wins! Very similar ambiance and experience to The Walrus and Carpenter in Ballard, without the oysters.

THE BEST PORK CHOP EVER! The chop was juicyand oh so flaverful(as all their food was. Also, the chicken pate was great. The rapini with nettle pesto was delicious. The zucchini bread dessert totally surprised me, did not sound great but it was perfect. Warm and crunchy on the edges.

Yummy absolutely amazing french lunch. Sit down enjoy a glass of rose. Sample plates from pickled vegetables to a smoked halibut dip. This place is a wonderful stop for food lovers.

Service was good, but meals were over-priced, under-portioned, and over-rated. Unfortunately, this is typical of many Seattle-based, boutique eateries as they take advantage of the local clientele who will typically pay these prices and not expect quality.

Great place for small plates! We had the scallops, parisienne gnocchi, and olives. Great ambiance on the patio; staff were friendly and very knowledgeable on menu items. However the menu in its presentation felt a bit pretentious in our opinion. It’s impossible to know what portions you’re receiving by menu alone, as it lacks section headers for starters, entrées, etc. Again staff were helpful with this and flavors were delicious, but the warm and casual vibe of the restaurant was a confusing juxtaposition with the menu for us. All things considered, it is a great stop in a beautiful location!

A perfect place to stop and restore oneself after a walk along the shore of Lake Union. Very friendly staff and delicious gorgeously presented foods. Excellent selection of beers on tap. Serving breakfast, lunch, mid-afternoon and dinner menus. Features a lovely terrace covered with a young magnolia and wisteria.
