Pulled pork sandwich and onion rings. Ruben sandwich and chili was all great, waitress was very nice and fast kept drinks going and food was quick. Lots of family’s and couples. It was a bit small inside had a bar when you first come inside. Pulled pork was so so good I will be going back when we go visit Carlinville again. Felt like home low light comforting.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant where the owner went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and appreciated. After being kicked off a train and stranded four hours away from home, I was feeling lost and frustrated. However, the hospitality and kindness shown by the owner was beyond comprehension.

Each time I am in Carlinville visiting family I always find time to dine at The Wood Duck. The bar fare menu is really quite tasty and the prices are extremely reasonable during this time of rising food and other costs. The steak sandwich is off the chart awesome! Wings, burgers, horseshoes, Philly steak sandwiches and daily specials ALL have been tried by me and my friends and we have never been disappointed. Drinks are reasonable, the crowd tends to be ‘hometown friendly’ and the owner has an awesome personality and appreciates her patrons. I’ll be visiting again in another week.

I eat here every chance I get! I always get the BBQ horseshoe and various appetizers. It’s the best around and can’t find another to top it. Always a friendly atmosphere. It does take a bit to get your food; however, they have signs saying that. My meal is always fresh
