Awesome place , we love visiting historic buildings like this, especially when they are restaurants. We made reservations a few days ahead of time to make sure we had seating in the tunnel room. When we arrived we were told to sit wherever we like . It took a little bit for us to find our way to the stairs to the tunnel room. The ambiance of the room was very nice , we loved how the stone walls were exposed near the tunnel. We ordered the Irish Egg Rolls they were very good even though they were a little greasy . My wife ordered the Fisherman’s Pie, which was very good as well. I had the Guinness Chicken, the chicken was very tender, and the Guinness glaze paired perfectly with the chicken . We will definitely be returning . We’ll worth the 1hr and half drive .

After visiting Yuengling, we came here for lunch. We looked up the area pubs and taverns, and came across the menu that I salivated over for 2 weeks. We ended up at the St. Clair location, which has a little different menu…. but don’t let change your mind on location. The charm of this pub made me feel as I was in Ireland. I had the Irish Steak Sandwich, as I am from Philly, and she had the Paddy Melt. We shared the Guinness Gravy Fries. I ended up taking half of the cheesesteak home, as I was stuffed. The food was delicious, cheesesteak far exceeded my expectations ! Remember I’m from Philly, so I have had my share to compare to! We will be back to try their wings! That sauce selection is incredible! It also has a very interesting book case….

Very good food, reuben sandwich was delicious. Very lean corned beef, no gristle or fat as other restaurants seem to load up. Side vegetable well prepared & quite tasty. My wife order Shepherd’s pie which was very good and a very generous portion, which allows for a lunch sized take home portion. The server is very nice and helpful. Well worth visiting if you’re in the Pottsville area!

Crab stuffed shrimp was really good. Gravy fries I thought could have had more gravy involved. Fried mozzarella was wonderful but could have been cooked a tad but more but they were the size of a burrito! Sauce was good! Crab pretzel was wonderful. Service was amazing and cocktails not too expensive. I’d definitely go back again.

I was visiting my parents who live in the area, from out of state, and they insisted we needed to go to The Wooden Keg. What an awesome bar! I loved the historical note of the location with the Molly Maguires. Growing up in the Skook, I know quite a bit about them, so it was awesome to see the tunnel and the historical information shared in the decor.

Bit hit and miss. I’ve had good meals, but last night I got this to go. Since when do we make an A1 Peppercorn burger with slices of (stale?) bread?

On recommendation by our tour guide at the Yuengling brewery, the draw here is the prohibition speakeasy. It’s a really neat feature.

Solid pub grub, nice folks here. Came right at opening, so no wait for table, service or food. It’s a bit off the main drive, easy to overlook if you don’t quite know the neighborhood.

Super cool, old school bar. Great food and cocktails. Good beers on tap. Saloon type feeling is welcoming and the outside area is just fantastic. You can really feel the history.
