The yurt was such a fun night out with my work party. Getting up to the yurt was a ton of fun and easy to do. In the yurt there was enough seating for about 30 people. The food was great! The chef did a great job I just felt bad for him that it took so long between courses as It took us 2 1/2 hours to eat. Every course was tiny, the soup for example only had about 3 cm worth of soup or you get one 1 1/2 inch roll. The yurt was freezing as there was only has one space heater. it would have been nice if they had some kind of wam drink for in between courses like hot chocolate or tea. All they had was alcohol and coffee which I don’t drink either. Over all it was a great fun night out and something unusual!

I don’t often go up into the ski resorts when I visit Utah – the traffic simply isn’t worth the hassle – but heard a fine-dining restaurant that you could snowshoe in had opened and was instantly interested in making the trek to try it out.

Alyssa led us up a wonderful snowshoe hike through a frosted winter forest at dusk. We were met by a toasty warm yurt and a glass of bubbly followed by an incredible five-course meal from chef Ben. My favorite (although it was near impossible to choose), was the butternut squash soup with morels, rabbit confit, and sage oil.

“Fine dining experience” more like FUN dining experience. Cost included a guided snowshoe tour through the woods to the Yurt. Upon entry I was greeted with much laughter and excitement, and delightful aromas of perfectly cooked steaks and veggies. The servers were funny and super nice. The food was a dream come true. Chef Craig Gerome (who ownes a sausage company called Geromes Market (also amazing they sell sausages at the farmers market) was our chef for the evening. He did a great job… aside from all the wonderful things you would expect from such an occasion, there are some points to note: primitive Yurt means no running water. If you are not ok with a porta john, this is not the place for you (unless you want to commit a watershed violation). Don’t worry, there’s a thermos inside for hand washing. Also.. primitive Yurt does not run on electricity. A generator and propaine fuel the appliances and heating devices, so prioritize warm layers over fancy outfit. Anyway that’s the only real advice I have, besides bring some good jokes and positive vibes and sit back and enjoy this truly unique and delicious experience. My only real criticism is that there ought to be some sausage on the menu on the nights that Craig is working, also, there is a lot of snow accumulating on the newly built structures, making me concerned about the Yurt’s longterm integrity. Someone really should remove the snow.

We had a great night at The Yurt! Brought some out-of-state guests in, and had a remarkable night that they raved about for weeks following the event.

This is an incredibly fun, yet accessible evening without the need for too much prior planning. For locals, its a quick drive up the canyon then back home. For visitors, its worth the drive from whichever resort/hotel youre staying at. The dinner is prepared by a chef over a wood fired stove. The meal is 6 elegant courses and the food was top notch. The really cool aspect of this dinner however, is the intimate setting. Guests sit at a large table opposite other guests and the opportunity to engage with and learn about the other diners is a riot. Great conversation, and amazing food. Be sure to bring your own wine, the yurt doesnt offer any vino and trust me youll want to pair something with this dinner

We had so much fun snowshoeing through the forest up to The Yurt where we were met with the most delightful atmosphere! The servers, Alyssa and Nicole, made us feel so welcome and were very accommodating to our dietary needs. They were so much fun and made us feel like we were at a special family occasion (the family you actually want to around with)! We were treated with a perfectly portioned 5-course meal that was prepared to perfection! Big thank you to Chef Ben for all the diligent planning it takes to put on such a marvelous dinner! Thanks crew!!

We had a Christmas party there in 2019. It was cozy and warm. The food was exceptional! We have been yearning to go back! Last night we had our Christmas party at the Yurt. They have expanded the kitchen to the exterior part of the Yurt which allows them to seat 40 people instead of 26. Great they can accommodate more people per night which gives them more money. Yet it’s back fires in them. I was very displeased.

The service is slow. Not the enjoyable kind of being slow but the excruciating kind. The whole experience takes 3.5-4 hours with a lot of waiting in between. The servers did their best but they are just understaffed and try to do all the cooking on the spot. You might argue that you can converse with your friends but it’s a small room stuffed with 30 people. This yurt can be louder than a bar, constantly polluting the peace of the mountain.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at the yurt this winter and it was exquisite that I continue to tell my friends and family about it months after! The chefs take on chicken & waffles lives rent free in my mind for all time. I can’t wait to go back to see what the Chef can create.
