Busy place on a Sunday morning. We had the family pack of Banh Cuon Nhan Thit. It was 17.99 but it would feed about 4 or 5 people if you were eating this as your main course. They are a CASH only restaurant. The rice noodle is super thin and they give you ample amounts of pork and wood ear on the filling. Cannot wait to come back and try dining in and trying other items on the menu.

This place is famous for their banh cuon (a delicately thin rice crepe filled with seasoned ground pork and vegetables). But this time we came for the bun cha. A dish of grilled pork served with cold rice noodles and a healthy dose of salad fixings and herbs. Lettuce, pickled carrots, basil, mint, cilantro. Absolutely divine and generous enough for 2. We also got the cha ca which is a similar dish but instead of the pork it’s with grilled fish seasoned with turmeric and fresh dill. Both are absolutely divine. Light but satisfying.

Never coming back to this place again. Heard it was good, but the meat was not seasoned well. Fish sauce can only help so much. The man at the front was rude. They don’t tell you anything when you order, but they charge a $15 service charge if you don’t order enough dishes. $15 for a few cups of tap water??? I came with my family and we ordered 2 dishes because we were from out of town and we were trying a little bit of everything. This was the last place we were going to so we were already stuffed. The tab ended up being $40 for 2 plates. I’ve never been charged a service charge like this before. It’s not even written anywhere, and they don’t even tell you when you order. Completely unprofessional and shady. They also take cash only. It’s clear this restaurant doesn’t care about its customers. They only care about their bottom line. For those reasons, I’d rather support other businesses that do.

This place has long been a staple of the food they serve and they have been serving this food for a very long time. Most notably, if you don’t eat in, they have variety packs and To-go packs prepackage of the noodles and mung bean dishes ready to go, because that’s what they are known for. Add in the fact that the fish sauce, comes in a soup container size on your table, is the only way to eat those delectable meaty and savory bites.

If you are looking for good, authentic banh cuon – this is the place to go. We’ve been coming here for years. They have different arities (banh cuon cha, banh cuon thit Nuong, etc). They are all good. Good portions and all plates come with bean sprouts and herbs. Fish sauce is on the table in large containers for self serve.

The menu and food changed a bit since we have been here. There is no combination banh cuon. The shrimp banh cuon is a big disappointment! Nothing but small dry shred whatnots. Have little tiny bits of hard crab claws in the dry mix. It’s really dry bits that you don’t taste anything. The pork filling is fine. The service was not there. Had to flag down someone for fish sauce.

If you love banh cuon like I do then Thien Thanh is the right place to go. I have to come here every time I come to Houston. The place take cash only. I shorted almost $5 because I only have enough for the food and not the tax. The owner was really cool and waived the rest.

Very good food at affordable price. The portion is generous. We ordered “banh cuon thit nuong” (grilled pork rolls), “banh beo” (rice cake), and “cha ca la vong” (baked fish fillet with noodle/salad). That filled 4 of us up. They all tasted very good.

I wont come back again even the food good or not. I saw 10month ago, someone posted menu with the price for bánh cuốn with ground pork and vietnamese pork ham and bánh cuốn bbq pork were 10.75 for each. Then 6 month ago was 11.19 for each. Add extra chả lụa was still 1.65. Today I ordered 2 dishes ground pork with chả lụa + 1 bbg pork with extra chả lụa. Total cost me $40, so it means each dish maybe 12.50 + extra chả lụa $2.5. I felt expensive but I was too hurry to go so I didnt ask for receipt. After check the menu price from someone posted it few months ago, I feel they are up price so fast and too expensive for CASH only. I used to really love Thien Thanh cause price was acceptable but from now I will eat at Ông Trẻ. My friends said overthere is better. If they charged me that price for card, i will be okay cause I understand they need to pay tax and other fee, but not for CASH only. First time making me have to write the review

Their Banh Cuon Thit Nuong is my go to and it never fails! The grilled pork and thin rice paper is perfection! The Banh Bot Loc was pretty good as well but we go here for their Banh Cuon, you can’t find it anywhere else made like this!
