Everything was excellent. The wait staff were over the top polite and attentive. The dinner portions were large. The pizza had truffle and that was a nice surprise. The skirt steak was cooked perfectly. The appetizer was large enough for a dinner. Everything was great. The reason I’m giving it four stars is that the menu is typical American Bistro. It lacked creativity. If you like standard American fare, this is a great restaurant.

First let me start by saying I have been to Thyme at least 5 times, and I have always had great food. Not so much last night, we were a part of four and ordered everything to share. We had the crab cakes and we all thought they were dry. The Salmon was a decent portion and cooked nicely. The scallops on Risotto were small and maybe there were 5 pieces. The risotto was delicious. The duck . It was dry like it sat under a heat lamp for a while and tasteless . Also the portion was very small. The restaurant was not busy and the waitstaff seemed harried. We constantly had to wave someone down for a drink, etc. It seems like management just didn’t care what they were serving. I will give them another chance, but I was disappointed with this visit.

Had my company dinner there and the 6 of us enjoyed it! Warm welcome, prompt service and very good food. Liked the fact that it was not too noisy and we could hear each other. The round table and the gracious waitstaff helped make it a nice evening. A nice gem in an area with a dearth of nice restaurants.

One of the great dining experiences in the Hudson Valley. Thyme exceeds the high standards set by the Culinary Institute of America each and every time. The food is scrumptious and the staff is very attentive and professional. I especially recommend the seafood with particular emphasis on the clams and mussels prepared in an incredible sauce. Five-star dining experience in every way. You won’t be disappointed!!!!!

So hospitable! Loved the traditional chowder, maybe the best soup I ever tasted in a restaurant! (I would have thought so even without the appetite worked up by a day of hiking in this beautiful area I am sure!) The pizza and salad were just excellent, tasty and crunchy. Not leaving hungry and certainly inclined to come back!

I want to first say that I am about as critical as they come, especially with dining experiences, so some of you may think of me as harsh. I have been here twice now. First visit maybe three years ago, was with a friend from the area. Had I rated this place back then I would have given a rating of 0. Trendy setting, yes, but the service was novice, especially given the type of image they had been trying to present. Food was expensive and mediocre at best and small portions and the drinks were deplorable! I recently revisited and had a better experience. The service has improved- still not professional wait-staff at all which conflicts with the Manhattan image they are trying to present (they should perhaps take a field trip to see the difference), no obvious dining room captain, but an improvement and makes for a better dining experience. I think the biggest problem that exists is that this place is trying very hard to be something that they will not quite be. They have the cool decor, but for the prices they are asking it’s a bit much for “what it is” and that’s a mediocre restaurant. Lower the prices some, get a decent bartender and this place will be more in par with what it should be- fun dining, no great expectations and not being over charged. The food still needs some refining, presentation was better, but still a bit to be desired, especially at the cost. The location doesn’t seem to warrant an upscale restaurant and the staff isn’t quite at the upscale level yet either ( I believe I passed an abandoned building or two in route) but they have improved. Would I go again? Perhaps….I am guessing this is the owner’s first “go” at a restaurant (could be wrong) and the management seems to be improving with time.

My wife and I do not have the chance to get out alone (without the children) often. We chose Thyme to celebrate our 20th anniversary as it had good reviews and a friend mentioned it to me. We had an absolutely stunning dining experience across the board. Im a big steak guy and the rib eye blew me away. Without question a quality cut of beef. My wife loved the scallops and the wine selection delighted her immensely. The salads had a nice personal touch and the bread was hot. Quaint atmosphere with the type of service one would expect. We really enjoyed our night out!!!

Not really one to write reviews but as much as my wife and I try to like this place, it overall has been disappointing. We’ve been going there on and off for four years and between the cold greetings at the door, inconsistent hours and ultimately overpriced dishes, I think we’re done. It certainly has potential but is not quite making it as the sophisticated, hip place it seems to want to be.
