Visited Tia Maria’s on a Wednesday afternoon. There was street parking right in front of the restaurant. We were the only customers there at the time and Dulce was our waitress. It was clean and had typical Latin decor. One can see the kitchen staff as they prepare your food. We ordered 2 sopa de pollos and a Ceibeño plate which consists of fried chicken, plantains, and repollo. The sauce on the repollo was excellent. My family members agreed that the sopa stole the show! I ordered an horchata and it could have had a little more almond flavor. When I walked up to the front of the restaurant to pay, I noticed specials posted that were not on the menu; these specials should be included on the menu.

Cute and clean spot. Easy access and street parking since it’s on Tulane Ave. Went for an early dinner so it wasn’t busy. They have options for dine in small eating area with maybe about 10 tables. The food was fresh. Good portion sizes. Friendly staff. Flavor wise the food was ok. I didn’t get to try the pupusas so perhaps I need to go back and do that.

Tasty food, nice presentation, proper service, great portion… I recommend the fried ripped plantains, the fried yucca, and the combo (chicken, meat, and shrimp). The rice is definitely a good option as well… Highly recommend this restaurant to everyone in or visiting New Orleans!

I went and had the Desayuno and it was simple, but incredible. The quality of each product was good. It was not too expensive. The environment was amazing. The service was great. It was very clean and affordable and great food, one of my new favorites.

Such a great breakfast. Horchata is different with more of a peanut flavor, the best I’ve ever had even across many spots in NY and NJ. Desayuno was huge almost enough for two but we finished! We got extra sides of yuca and maduro. Coffee was great. Very clean and fast service. Definitely coming back again
