Already been in twice since they opened. Hector is just the nicest guy and they are serving some of the best Mexican/Central American food in the area right now. The Guatemalan-style tamales are maybe the best tamales I’ve had in SE Michigan. They’re wrapped in banana/plantain leaf, huge and the masa is so soft and flavorful. Watch out for the bones in the chicken tamal (you get a whole leg section inside), but they are truly wonderful. Got the shrimp tacos on my most recent visit and they might be the best tacos I’ve ever had in Ypsi. They are CASH ONLY for now, so make sure you hit up the ATM if you’re low, but everything is really affordable. Easily the most authentic and flavorful food for the money in Ypsi right now.

First order was big. All tacos were solid. Quesadilla, I got chicken, was the best I’ve had at a restaurant. Both tamales were fantastic, wife loved pork the most. They used bone-in-chicken in the tamale, flavor bomb. They are Oaxacana style so prepare for banana leaf instead of corn husk and more moist than most you’ve had in the area. Don’t sleep on this place! I’ll be back

My husband ordered the daily special (tamale and two tacos with rice and beans) and I ordered the huevos rancheros. Everything was delicious and the queso that came with the huevos was nothing like a queso I’d ever had, but to die for. Definitely recommend this place.

My family and I prefer this place for authentic food over any other in town. We’ve started to spread the word. This is our new favorite place for authentic Mexican/Guatemalan cuisine! I honestly can’t say anything bad about this place; the place was clean, the prices were excellent, the portions are good, the food is delicious and tastes like it’s cooked with love and most of all, the staff were all VERY hospitable, even the cook. They made us feel like family and they had the best attitudes. The atmosphere was uplifting because of this.

Probably the best tacos I have found IN YPSI. I work in southwest Detroit and know all the great taco places and I’ve always been disappointed with the tacos I’ve had in ypsi. Flavor isn’t there, sauce is subpar, poor quality meat etc. This place is the exact opposite of all my taco experiences in ypsi. All the different meats I have tried have been great. The sauces are good and spicy with a nice flavor. The black beans and rice taste fresh.
