Timpone’s for many students and staff from outside it looks quite old place. But it’s famous for unique and decent service. They have many Italian cuisine and few others too. Food is tasty and place is peaceful and pleasant. We liked the pizzas they serve. Service gets delayed as tables fill up. We made it by 6pm and finished with desserts by 8pm ‍♂️ otherwise food is good and ambiance too.

This restaurant was recommended and it was our first time attending but we won’t be back. I took the servers recommendation on a sweet drink and got a cactus Martini that was truly awful. I didn’t drink it and it was so sour and bitter and the furthest thing from sweet. My husband ordered the funghi Pizza and he ate one piece and did not box it up to take it home. Our friends tried the pizza as well and it was not good. I had cheese ravioli that was average. Our server started out really well but then became more concerned with the four drunk golfers in the corner I assume because of a really good tip in her future. As a server I would have at least asked about my full drink that I never drank and I would have asked about the pizza that was untouched as well. We ordered bread which cost you money which is kind of strange for an Italian place. We just don’t need to go back. Super disappointing.

We called Timpone’s on Tuesday to ask for reservations that Friday for around 20 people for a short wedding ceremony and dinner. The manager was accommodating and said we may need to share the space but he was sure he could make it work, even with the short notice. The restaurant made adjustments to allow our group private space in the Tuscany room. We had two staff with us only and they were phenomenal and patient. We ended up with an amazing, romantic atmosphere for our small intimate wedding with our closest friends. Timpone’s served the food as they would with any table and the presentation, timing, quality, and portions were perfect. Many of our guests were blown away with the restaurant. Our staff were so helpful and on top of things. They were extra nice in letting us hang out a little later than they are normally open with smiles on their faces. Timpone’s isn’t a place that traditionally handles a wedding, but they handled ours like pros. We highly recommend them as the food and service are top notch.

Very cool and confusing place at the same time. The floor layout is horrible, I felt so bad for the staff. The food was very good. Great date night, but if they are busy then you may end up waiting for service. So my service rating is not really against the staff but the floor plan. Watching the staff I could not stop shaking my head. So be gentle with them.

I chose this restaurant because the reviews of the food were very good, but I was surprised at HOW good it was. We had two specials – salmon cakes appetizer and steak with cognac sauce dinner and two pizzas. A plain pepperoni for my son and I had the intriguing and delicious duck pizza. Though it was Sat night on an extra busy weekend, service was great. Recommend reservations. Will go back for sure next time in town.

I wish we had these dishes in the restaurant! Oh my gosh, carry out of the scallops and lamb shank were so darn amazing. We had a lovely dinner in our hotel room, wish we could have joined you in the restaurant. Our compliments to the chef, very balanced meal, veg to protein. Thank you!!

So the atmosphere may be reminiscent of the 80’s but the food here reflects current trends paired with local foods. This is he place to go for a high-end authentic Italian meal in central illinois. Still.

We had a delightful anniversary dinner at Timpone’s! Sydney took such great care of us – even treating us to glasses of Prosecco to celebrate the occasion! Greatly appreciated Sydney’s attention to detail and friendly service in honor of our special night out. Highly recommend the wood-grilled salmon and limoncello cheesecake!

I’ve always loved the food here. Service is always top notch. We usually get the bread (amazing and fluffy), Caeser salad, and then entrees. My mom had pasta and I had the vegan special. It was spectacular! The bread pudding was also quite delicious.

After confirming my reservation for a large group with a room fee of $100 plus our F&Bspend, I was called 5 days later and told I would have a minimum spend of $1000 to keep the reservation. We have used this location for over a decade for our annual event and generally spend around $500. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to continue to work together after this incident. Likely, the room I had booked will sit empty that evening and I will take my business elsewhere.
