I like Tin Drum but this store was a little disappointing. Still good food although my wife’s lettuce wrap filling had a slight burnt/petroleum after flavor. My chicken spas Thai was excellent. Portions were small for lunch. I eat some of my wife’s meal to fill me up. Drinks were a little strange, the soft drinks that were in bottles were not opened, and had no cup with ice… I guess some must just “swig” from the bottle? Atmosphere was nice and service was quick.

Honestly the North Druid Hill location is much better, because it’s food was really mid. It’s like it didn’t have any taste or flavor, but none the less I ate it because I was hungry. So if you’re looking for a Tin Drum, definitely try another location. Also their prices are way too high for me but to each his or her own ♂️

I ordered a Vietnamese coffee with brown sugar boba it’s was delicious, I wish this spot was closer cause I would have 1 at least once a week . I ordered some ramen I can’t remember the name of it but it was spicy and delicious, I will definitely come back and order again. I ordered wings too but they took awhile , I had to go and ask for them because I think they forgot so I just took them to go, the wings were very tiny but tasty .

Pleasantly surprised. The family was buying some running shoes from the store next door. We were hungry so we decided to check Tin Drum out. We were all pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty. It was better and more authentic than other chain Asian restaurants I’ve tried. The food was fresh and tasty.

Horrible. Cashier doesn’t know how to enter items but doesn’t want to ask anyone how to. She’s couldn’t put in the sugar or ice level for the Boba drink. She also didn’t know how to modify the food and tried to ring me up for something else entirely (thank God I was watching). She had me pay first then tried to tell me I had to pay more but she didn’t know how to make me pay more after I already paid. She had me step to the side and took other customers. When I told her I didn’t want the cook to make my food wrong she ignored me. I saw a manager and motioned for him to help and he got another employee to ask me what’s wrong and brushed me off. The other employee fixed one thing but not the other on my food. He made my drink first and when my food took 25 minutes to prepare, my drink’s ice was completely melted and ridiculously sweet. When I told him one of the things was wrong, he told me it was right and that they were backed up. After 25 minutes and $40 later, my food was not right and they don’t care. Watery over sweet drink, hard undercooked cauliflower with runny batter, and incorrectly made Pad Thai. This is horrible customer service! It wouldn’t have mattered if only $5 was spent. It’s not free, a customer should get what they pay for period. Shame on them. I only gave a star because the food was freshly cooked.

Spicy cauliflower was super tasty ($8)and a decent size portion. I’ll eat that instead of a meal. The Vietnamese coffee ($5) frappe is really sweet, but really good. The cashier was friendly and new, but it was nice to see one of his teammates Come help him when he had a question.

Not very good. Everything looked fine except the green beans. Look at my photo compared to the restaurant one and you can see why I was disappointed… mine just looked bad honestly. Tasted like too much salt or something. Anyway, would not recommend. Noodle dish was super bland.

The first time we went, the Saigon salad was fantastic. Based on the good experience we returned and it was the blandest food I’ve ever eaten. The shrimp was unsalted and unseasoned, this tasted like absolutely nothing. It was like eating flavorless fiber. Second, I hardly got any salad dressing so basically I was eating iceberg lettuce, carrots, and unseasoned shrimp for $13. The music was so loud I didn’t even feel like having a conversation with my husband. I should note that I am not a person who complains, nor am I picky. To spend money on such a mediocre experience was really disappointing. Long story short, turn the music down and actually season your food.
