Tio Carlos – Keller Menu – Keller, TX

Type : Mexican restaurant

Location : Keller, TX

Tio Carlos Flavors and diverse menu is the result of long years of experience and creativity of Carlos and our great team of cooks accompanied by our great relationship and suggestive and helpfull ideas from our lovely customers and friends. Our menu is an invitation on a trip that takes us from Texas and Mexico’s heartland through the Rest of the Americas, where we integrated flavors that are exciting as well as harmonious, blending traditional cocina Tex-Mex, Mexico and some Latin countries where we found the most diverse and extensive hot and full of flavor recipes.

Let’s face the facts everyone. When it comes to a good, authentic styled, Mexican restaurant, there are really none to be found within this area. The wifey and I have driven past this location many times, and have seen plenty of customers parked on the outside, so we decided to try their food for ourselves. The food was decent, but your waitresses are thieves. Drinks are not on the menu (sodas, tea, sweet tea) so you are not aware of the cost. So what they do is increase the cost of the drinks on your ticket. We have had this happen to us twice. Then on your receipt they do not provide you one that shows every item you ordered along with the cost of the item. So they also increase the cost of this as well. You will not catch it unless you add it up. We questioned them about this, and all of a sudden the waitresses started stuttering and lost their ability to understand English. My wife and I will never go here again……

I do like Tio Carlos. The only reason for the 4 star on food is the spice they use on their veggies makes it taste pickled, but the size of the shrimp brochette was awesome.

My server was lovely and I was able to have steak argentine which is a rare treat for me. Was very spacious and had a lovely feel- not shiney and new, but comfortable and welcoming. Food came out quickly and was good sized portion.

10 out of 10 do not recommend! We ordered the fajitas for 2 combo beef and chicken. They were not busy and only saw 1 other table seated when we came in. We were seated pretty immediately but took 10-15 minutes for someone to come and take our order and bring drinks. Once our order was placed another 10 minutes before chips and salsa was brought out. That’s fine I can deal with that. Another 15-20 minutes and our food came out. The presentation of the food was nice and smelled delicious. Started assembling my little taco. Tasted the beans first and they tasted good. Tasted the rice next and was disappointed it had no flavor. The texture of the rice was a bit crunchy. That’s fine I can get passed the flavorless rice. Threw some sour cream and some of the salsa on to give some flavor. Picked a piece of chicken and a piece of beef. The chicken was a bit on the dry side but had decent flavor. But the beef was so tuff I couldn’t even bite through it. My husband managed to find one piece that could actually be chewed. Sadly we didn’t take any of the beef because it was pointless to take it home I did bring home the rest of the chicken though. For the amount they charge it just wasn’t worth it. I understand food prices have increased everywhere and places are still understaffed but this place had at least 3 waitresses on the floor and only one table seated when we arrived. I wish the beef had not been so tuff. Maybe it’s not like that all the time I don’t know, but I don’t ever see myself going back to try again.

Great tacos, burritos and nachos!!! Sweet tea was good and wife loved her margarita … the seasoning on the chips was my own I carry with me but maybe Carlos will add it, I shared my recipe with him 😉

Very good margaritas food and service. One waitress was handling 10 to 20 customers at once. She did an awesome job. It’s a low-key restaurant but good quality food

First time here, we enjoyed the experience. Our waitress (who happened to also be running the Cantina) couldn’t have been any better, she too fantastic care of us. I had beef fajitas, nice and tender. My wife had chicken enchiladas, she said she enjoyed them. Give it a try, we plan to go back soon!

So I do DoorDash full time for a living now. I’ve been delivering for about 8 months and I love what I do it’s fun, it keeps me busy and on my toe’s lol, but what I love the most is all the places I come across to enjoy a delicious meal. Today my hubby and I decided to stop and enjoy a mini lunch buffet. Reasonable price and very tasty show support for your local businesses and if your in the neighborhood stop by and try this location ☺️

We went for dinner and there was not many people there. Maybe three tables were being used. It was around 6 o’clock at night. I ordered the chicharones and yucca. The pork was perfectly cooked but the yucca was way over cooked and greasy. My husband ordered the chili relleno with ground beef and he thought it was very good. My sister ordered the chicken fajitas and she also thought it was very good. She also ordered a margarita and asked for no salt. They put salt on the rim and she just took it but said the drink itself was salty. She ordered some black beans as a dip but waited forever and had to ask again because the waitress forgot. Same with water. The waitress did not come around very often. After we paid a lady came to the table asking how our food was. I told her about my yucca being way over cooked and showed her. Then a man and woman came back with the first lady to the table and she told them about my food and the man said he would make me some plantains to take home. We waited again for a long time. During that time the lady said they took off the cost of the yucca from our bill that my sister already paid. Don’t know yet if she got a refund. The plantains never came so we went to leave and our waitress was at the podium by the front door. I told her that the man said he was going to make us some plantains to go, but we needed to go. She said she would check on it. She came back and said they are not cooking them. So I said ok and we left. We will not be going back.
