The website doesn’t clearly indicate that this is a hotel restaurant, when we arrived there was no outside signage with the restaurant name.

Decided to go here for dinner for our last night at the resort and it did not disappoint. Our server was kind and attentive. They have a good variety of sushi rolls. I had the fisherman’s stew which was delicious and had the whole ocean in it. 10/10

Delicious seafood spot in Stowe! Decent drink menu and dessert options too. Their menu is limited so be sure to look ahead of time. Little confusing to find if you’re not staying at the resort and don’t valet your car in the front. We had to google map our way from the back parking lot and find our way through the resort to it.

We are staying at Spruce Peak Lodge and went here for dinner last night. The front desk staff at the restaurant itself (not the hotel) were wonderful and clearly overwhelmed by bad management. My son was served his meal 20 minutes before we were, the manager seemed to be checking on every table but ours, no check-ins were made by our waitstaff, the food portions were poor and ridiculously small, and what my son had was over cooked and cold. We could hear other patrons complaining. Easily the worst meal and service we have had in Stowe (and most places). Avoid. The food truck by the pool has far better food and service. If looking to stay at this hotel, be aware you won’t likely be eating here as we were warned the service at the other restaurant was somehow worse.

Ate at the Tipsy Trout during our stay in Stowe. The whole place has been completely renovated and beautiful. The service was excellent and the food was amazing! The sushi is the highlight there, you can also order it out in the lobby area.

Where do I start? Aaron the host was so friendly and accommodating, made me honestly feel like a VIP superstar with how nice he was and how well he treated me and my dog setting us up for some food to bring back to room. Dave the manager and Dave the bartender were so great as well that I had to return to actually sit down and eat. Coming for dinner the next night with high expectations I was not disappointed at all. Shout out to the chef for a beautiful steak and to Dave the bartender for poring with the perfect red wine and bourbon night cap dessert drink. These guys truly went above and beyond. Special thanks to Dave the a manger as well, exceptional professional service with leadership by example and it was clearly reflected in the mood of the staff and how well trained everyone was. I’d give ten stars if I could. When in Stowe ride for the spirit of Jake Burton!

It was a ok meal, but very pricey. We ended up spending around $65 a person (before tax and tip, and with only one person ordering a glass of wine) and the kitchen was very disorganized. I got the hanger steak and it was overcooked and the lobster gratin did not taste of lobster. We ordered sushi they were saying that it was not available so we canceled it. It ended up coming anyway but they said it was on the house so that made up for the poor food in my eyes. What I would recommend is the lobster roll and the volcano roll (that we got at the end of dinner) since they were beautiful and delicious.

We dined at Tipsy Trout for a special night out during a vacation week in Stowe. We had chosen the restaurant based on its stellar reputation: it was included in several “best of Stowe” media stories that I read when researching special-occasion restaurants. I read about the acclaimed chef and his seafood focused menu and also checked out a sample menu online before reserving ac table. I felt lucky to get a reservation. Our dining experience was disappointing, which was probably due to the fact that we were there on a weekend night during a busy school vacation week in February. We now realize that Stowe restaurants generally struggle during these peak periods, with resulting service and quality problems. This one certainly did not live up to its critical reputation.

SALT!!! If I’m leaving with my lips and mouth dry there is a problem! Why so much salt? That’s a definite indicator of the cooking staff and poor food. Over priced wine glasses and cocktails. I understand you’re selling to a certain clientele but have better food with less salt. Waitress was good though
