What?! This place is incredible. Had a short wait (<20 minutes) as there is seating for probably 25 people in the place. A short walk around the downtown area, and when checking back in, got seated. One chef, two servers- the food was made from scratch and so delicious- service was top notch. Take the time to wait- you won’t regret it!

Such a cool, cozy, intimate experience. The owners were super personable, and the food that’s cooked right in front of you was amazing. The place is very small, so coming here with a large party at a busy time would be a challenge. The size of the place is part of the experience. Sitting at the breakfast counter makes you feel like you can reach over and help crack an egg or flip a pancake! It’s definitely worth a visit when in Eagle River!

Really cool place, you’d expect to find on a quaint side street in New York, not Eagle River. Cute, quaint, unique menu and really good quality food (from the littlest detail like the peeled orange slice, to the flavored butter/syrup for the homemade French toast sticks). We had the little donkey and frietta’s, both were excellent! Great experience and meal, but do expect to wait as it’s very popular.

What a wonderful place. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. I had the Purple Ube Pancake. Absolutely delicious. My daughter had the Ricotta Toast. Our waitress Tiffany was so sweet. The owners Beth and Russ are so nice. Ashley the cook is killing it. Thank you Toad in the Hole! We will be back again soon.

Wow! I just had a fabulous sandwich and salad at The Toad in the Hole in Eagle River! All my senses and taste buds immediately woke up. The food is not your usual cafe food by a long shot, it is outstanding! Everything is fresh and is cooked right in front of you. The cafe is small and quaint, making it a very homey atmosphere, which I absolutely loved. I went by myself after an appointment in Eagle River, sat at the counter and had so much fun talking to the whole Toad in the Whole family. Make sure you check this place out!

The food is amazing. Fresh, creative and healthy options. It is hard to choose a favorite dish, they have great specials, awesome soups, unique salads and veggie heavy breakfast dishes. There is definitely something for everyone. If you are looking for a more unique spot, this place definitely fill a much needed ‘hole’ in ER!

Hear me. This place is different. It’s not your usual greasy spoon diner. Each item that’s created is done with thoughtfulness and care. You could even say love. It’s the difference between a good meal and an epic meal. The food is, as far as I can tell, 100% made from scratch. It’s all so good.

Three of us traveled to Eagle River to visit Toad. Totally deserving of the great reviews. Clean, very sweet restaurant, great communication, very pleasant hard-working well- coordinated staff. We sat at the counter and loved watching the action in the kitchen 2 feet away. Like a ballet. And did I mention the food? So so delicious – and interesting! Thank you for a lovely morning.

In an original diner space from the 40s, you will love this place. It’s a small, intimate diner (locals won’t be surprised when they walk in), but if you’re new to the area this may surprise you. The women-owned diner did a great job renovating the space, and we cannot get over the decor.
