I ordered the chicken Bento and I wanted to enjoy the food, I really did. The dumplings were tasty but the rest was so bland I had to drench it in soy sauce – not something I like to do. The chicken felt stale and the carrots smelled like plastic. I don’t know what the folks who wrote the race reviews on this place were eating, but it certainly wasn’t what I ate.

Good overall Japanese food for Kentucky. Not comparable to a city with a higher Asian population (such as Los Angeles) but fresh and tasty and a good change from fast fried foods. This is a walk-up counter service place which was fine for me as I was on a business trip.

Tokyo Express was honestly a really nice experience. All I tried was their sushi but it was well worth it! The rolls came out very fast and were fresh and delicious! The cashier and servers were all very professional and kind to me and my friends and for that alone I would highly recommend! Over all a very nice dine in experience.

Always a great time and great food when we go. The owners make us feel like we are family. And the food is always great no matter what we order. It was hard for us to find a good Asian food place coming from a major city area, but we always come back to Tokyo Express without a second thought!!

We almost didn’t go in to be honest. Don’t let the outside fool you! The food was amazing. We got the chicken bento box and it did not disappoint. We also got the miso soup which was amazing. The lady running the front in was beyond great! Excellent customer service!! We will definitely make the hour drive to this place for some amazing quality food.

I’m sorry but I read all the great reviews. The chicken is over cooked, has a bad taste. Fried rice not good. Yum yum sause terrible. I threw out 95 percent of my food. Please do not eat there. Its terrible. I have eaten at great Restaurant’s this is not one of them!!!!

I ordered two different sushi rolls and both were drenched in sauce. I’m not a picky eater at all but it was way too much sauce. I scrapped off some of the sauce but it still wasn’t very good. I don’t know if it didn’t taste fresh or if it just didn’t have the flavor I expect from sushi (I couldn’t pinpoint the issue besides the excess sauce) but it was so disappointing. I love sushi leftovers but even if it had tasted better I don’t know that I would have saved it for left overs since the sauce overload would have made it gross and soggy. On a positive note I will say is that the guy working the counter when I picked up my food was very friendly.
