Went for my friends birthday and had a blast. First the staff greeted us and was very communicative and friendly. We were seated promptly (probably because we came when it wasn’t busy). They had a great beer and drink selection. The food was cooked quickly and to perfection. It was so delicious and our chef was very engaging. I’m definitely coming again!

Tried to call several times to make reservation for about 2 hours no answer. We arrive me and one other person at 8:50pm on Sunday. The host says closed. The sign said 9:30 closed. She says no we close at 8:30. I said how??? When the website says 9:30 and the sign inside and outside says 9:30. She said the sign is wrong and not updated. yes there were people still inside eating. She said I will get the owner. A lady walks over and says 9:30 is the walk out time. I asked soooooo are you going to tell your guest hey its 9:30 time to walk out??? No your host was a lie and the owner was a lie. Based off the low rate and horrible reviews 3.5 you would think you would have better communications and updated sign and need all the customers you can get. The sign does not need to be updated! you and your host was a lying. Im glad I didn’t waste my time paying 20% tip that you charge automatically for horrible service. I came to your restaurant 40 mins before closing for your host to lie and say you close at 8:30 but then the owner say no walk out time is 9:30. So if walk out time is 9:30 why were we not seated at 8:50? Maybe there was another reason we were not seated…..

Not sure why there are bad reviews on this place because I had an amazing time for my birthday! Highly recommend. Excellent food, excellent service, and they really go above and beyond for birthdays. I’ll definitely go back. So much fun!

One of the best teppanyaki places on the east side. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that, depending on the chef, the food could be a bit too heavy on the ingredients (butter, salt, soy sauce, etc.) to some, and it can be a bit pricey (plan for $50-$100/person).

If I could give this place negative stars I would. The customer service is absolutely garbage. We didn’t even get to try the food. Our reservation was at 530, we got there early. There was literally one table that was being used in the entire restaurant, the workers there refused to acknowledge us. We waiting with ample time for them to at the minimum come and see if we had reservations and to seat us. We made eye contact several times with multiple staff members and no one came to greet us or anything. Definitely will not be doing back there, do not recommend.

Went on a random Friday night and there was absolutely no wait! TONY was super awesome, friendly and made some delicious food!! A bit over priced and they weren’t offering sushi ☹️ but the experience was fun. Thanks Tony for making our first experience at Tokyo enjoyable and delicious!!

We have gone to this restaurant many times and LOVE the food. This most recent visit wasn’t the best because it was just 2 of us. we had to wait for almost an hour for other people to be added to our table. The chef and staff were very nice, but the people added to our table were really rude to the server and the chef . I did the 4 stars just because of the length of time we had to wait to fill the table.

We should have left when we entered. We went on a Thursday night and there were only 3 other people in the entire restaurant. Service was comparable to being in Europe. She came to our table twice. We did a corking fee and we poured our own wine the entire night. Food was good, but not my favorite hibachi. The tipping is 20% added to your bill automatically. The signs are very clear and it is also on their menu. It’s also in big bold letters on your bill. We were surprised by the $5 fried rice up-charge. That felt very petty and was unexpected. Overall, we would have gladly spent our money elsewhere. There is a reason this place is empty. They also started closing an hour early while we were still there. The chief also was a little lower in energy, but reasonably so considering the atmosphere.
