Tommy’s Hideaway, a new wood-fired pizza and pub on Gulfport’s Beach Boulevard, is about to bring a unique experience to the community. Owners Tom Lussiano and Larisa Curbelo have imported a large ceramic pizza oven from California that currently cranks out four pizzas every 90 seconds. The pub actively holds local events and features live entertainment, offering seating for 30 people inside and 40 outside, including a walk-up bar that seats 12 patrons. Customers can bring their furry friends along as the establishment is dog-friendly. Get ready to enjoy a delicious, fast-fired pizza and a great atmosphere at Tommy’s Hideaway.

The service was very good and very friendly, and the owner brought out a taste of the shrimp salad, which my friend ordered and was very good. Very light and flavorful. She got it on top of a beautiful salad and raved about it (i should have gotten this). Another friend ordered a caprese salad and liked it as well. Unfortunately, my burger (which I had seen rave reviews for) was dry, overcooked and the meat really didn’t have a lot of flavor. I didn’t send it back because I was starving and the first couple bites were good, but once I cut it open it just wasn’t juicy at all and almost well done, not medium as I’d requested. 4 stars on the meals if I hadn’t ordered the burger, but that brought it down for me, bummer. I guess I’d try something again another time, still waiting on the pizza.

One of the best pizzas we’ve had in Florida. All ingredients are very fresh, and every dough is made by hand in-house every day. Tommy himself stopped by our table to make sure everything was satisfactory or better. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the Gulfport area.

First time trying Tommy’s Hideaway and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We tried the parsley and Parmesan fried. They were a thicker cut steak fries served on a mini cat iron with a garlicky butter sauce in the bottom. They were so good. For the main course we enjoyed the margherita pizza and it was phenomenal! The dough was light but has a nice golden color to it. The tomato sauce was fresh and not overly sweet and the basil tasted really fresh as well. In addition to the food, the service and overall atmosphere was enjoyable.

After walking the beach, pier and beautiful neighborhood, a friend and I decided to try out this new addition to Gulfport. It’s casual dining and really happy staff fits right into the Gulfport vibe. I liked the hip decor with exposed ductwork and industrial design and our server was happy and adorable. We sat outside and were greeted by the guests at the table next to us. Two local gents said it was their third meal there in the short time the restaurants been open. They recommended the chicken parm sub and the meaty pizza. They also remarked that the fries were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. We took their advice and tried the sub and fries and he was right! I also got the meatballs and ricotta which was decadent. The marinara sauce is high quality and isn’t overly spiced or salty. I don’t know why we didn’t try the pizza, next time! I really enjoyed sitting outside and people watching.
