Reviews matter and this place deserves a great review!! We came early for breakfast. The French toast was incredible. Soft in the middle with crispy edges. They heat the syrup-yum. The fruit and granola was very good too with fresh strawberries. The grits and hash browns were about average. Our server Shayna was absolutely fantastic!! Definitely returning soon.

Tom’s is the bomb!! Came in from out of town and caught some early breakfast. Service, food, cleanliness, presentation was absolutely on point! Best sweet tea that I didn’t make ever! Very good omelettes. Unfortunately grits not so much, but it didn’t matter. If it’s not number one in high point, it should be. Absolutely outstanding!

A good breakfast, served on real plates in a nice upscale “diner like” environment. I was attended to seconds after I walked in the door. Waitress came quickly, then drinks right after. Food also came within minutes. Like really fast! Very helpful if you are in a hurry. I had French toast, sausage links, and grits- all good. My bill was put on table while I was eating so I could quickly pay and leave if I needed to. Even nicer- waitress was sweet and had smiles for me.

Coworker and I stopped while running around town. Mid-morning also happy they actually serve breakfast all day long. We’re sitting there working on a new phone that we just picked up order the food sitting around. And within minutes hot food came out and it was perfect.

When I was a kid I went here a lot with my grandparents. I remember the food being so good. I moved away for a bit and came back recently and was able to introduce my wife to it. I was a bit worried I may have over hyped it or built it up to much, I mean it HAD been 20+ years, but Tom’s Place delivered. The food is Still fantastic (I love their French toast, the wife loves their biscuits & gravy), the staff is friendly and they made the place look great. While I’m not a fan of the heavy traffic on Sunday, I get the appeal of wanting a slice of heaven on a day of worship. My biggest complaint is that I don’t live next door.

I first visited Tom’s Place in Feb. 2023. It popped up on Google as a recommended place to eat. My friends and I have visited, at least, once a month since that time. All was going well until a couple months ago. Only management understands their staffing but they open at 6 AM and that is when we arrive. The last 2 visits, we were told by staff that the waitress for the table we selected was running late for work. I understand the territorial jurisdiction of tables in that environment but they shouldn’t leave us waiting only to provide that information when we inquire. The food is still good, the timeliness of when it is delivered to our table is still good but there seems to be a staffing issue at opening time. This seems to cause anxiety for others that have to cover our table. I suspect they are upset with the person that can’t show up on time and, thus, the customer doesn’t enjoy their experience. I was told that our tips go to the waitress that was assigned our table even if they hadn’t even shown up for work yet. That is laughable but I guess it is their policy. For anyone arriving after Tom’s Place is fully staffed, I would guess that you have a wonderful experience. When I first started going here, I’d see cops having breakfast, other locals reading the newspaper but I haven’t seen that in months. Maybe they showed up at 6 also. At any rate, I hope they can get some help that shows up at opening time and aren’t jaded because of it. It’s very unfortunate. My friends and I are not likely to return and that is sad because this place was awesome just a few months ago.

This is the third time that I visit times and yes the food and service is absolutely wonderful. But I always go online and look at the menu the menu prices are so different, so the French toast shows that it’s $6 but when I paid I paid $8 and some change and today that I went up there was August 1st 2023 so I called back I did speak to the waitress I don’t want to put her name on here and she did indicate saying that he does need to take the online menu down or updated but to as a consumer you know that’s why I ordered the French. So I wanted to verify to see if anyone else had this problem as well because most people do look at the online menu and reviews and when you look at it the price shows one thing but then when you go to the establishment the prices are totally different so that did not sit well with me that’s why I’m not giving Tom’s at this time of five stars
