Second time coming here. Hot dogs are piping hot in late December. Tony’s smells exactly what you expect an authentic hot dog truck to smell like. It’s hard to describe but the steamy dirty water just has a way of lifting my spirits when it blows out of the truck. Mix that in with the air-tight seal sound that you hear every time the lids get opened and I always leave with a smile. Perfect place for a quick, inexpensive lunch. Two men working. Two giant uber eats orders went out while I was on line. No problem. Accepts credit cards. Check them out.

8/13/2023 My wife and I were in Newark today and decided to go here after I received my order I was sitting in the car watching the man preparing peoples food with only one glove on not only that he was handing money with the gloved hand. How hard is it to at least try and be a little clean and sanitary. Or maybe consider having 2 people on the truck at all times one to prepare food and the other to collect money only. A good Frank they put it together well. The hot onions and sausage is Nirvana. A definite repeat destination only if they had benches to set up on the parks grass. Can’t have it all this was worth the price.

Wanted to compare some local trucks so I grabbed some dogs from Tony’s. First thing was they had the Manhattan Special soda. I love that stuff so I was pumped. Nice kick from these onions but I will say in the Newark area I had other onions I preferred more. Won’t say from where, don’t want to pit one against another…plus now you have to go looking for them and give these trucks some business 😉

Got the “hot works” (hot onion, sauerkraut and mustard) and hot onion, chili and cheese. Hot onion has an excellent kick to it, nice and tangy, and the hot dogs themselves are boiled Sabretts. Highly recommend.

This hot dog truck has been a staple in Branch Brook park for years and there’s a very good reason they’ve been around for so long…..they’re great . They serve an NC all beef dog and a smoked hot sausage. As far as toppings, they have lots, My favorites are mustard, kraft and hot onions. Oh, they don’t have kimche, avacado, aole’ or any other sort of foo foo toppings, this is an Old School hot dog truck. Depending on when you get there, parking might be tough and there might be a line, but believe me it’s worth the wait.
