Mike Scotto, like every Italian young man, started cooking at age five. He began helping his mother prepare dinner for his family of 6, and later at the age of 16 decided to leave school and pursue his dream of becoming a professional chef. Mike worked throughout Italy and over seas on boats to expand his culinary expertise. A few years later, Mikes experiences and travels landed him in New York City. It was a snowy winter day, a rare sight for an Italian native. A metropolitan bus dropped him in the heart of Chinatown wearing nothing but flip flops and a t-shirt. His next destination was New Hyde Park, Long Island. Home to the famous Umberto’s Pizzeria & Restaurant.

What an excellent first visit! My husband brought me here for lunch and the food did not disappoint. The decor is cool and there’s plenty of indoor seating, as well as a few tables outside. We ordered a few tacos and some steak fries. The mango shrimp taco was very fresh, light, and delicious. The steak and cheese taco was also a favorite, the melted cheese was perfectly paired with the juicy steak. The frozen margarita was *chefs kiss* so good! We were able to mix two flavors and it paired so well with the meal. It’s the kind of frozen margarita you can enjoy during happy hour on these nice sunny days. And the steak fries.. Oh. My. Goddddddd. Do yourself a favor and order some because they’re filling and can be enjoyed with the tacos or alone. Overall, 10/10 and I absolutely recommend!

Yummyyyy! I had tacos and my friend tacos, the tacos were delicious. I had chicken, steak tacos! She is vegan but she also liked her own selection! People we’re really nice and attentive. The spot had music in the background, meaning ambiance really nice. Definitely check them out! Almost forgot, I tried the churro and it was so delicious too.

Their food is delicious! The place is lively, clean, with lots of tables to sit at. The employees are always sweet and helpful. The taco combos are great and super filling for a meal. I love their chicken club tacos and the chips and guacamole were all great. Have recommended this food spot to everyone!

A friend who I trust with food recommended Tony’s so I had to try it. An elevated taco experience, I agree with Ton’y motto not your average taco! We ordered delivery and everything was delicious. I ordered straight from the website and fees and prices were much cheaper than Grub-hub and Uber Eats. Our order was as follows Short Rib Peter Luger (amazing), Class Carne Asada (great), Steak Supreme (amazing), Class grilled shrimp (great) and finally Shrimp Supreme (amazing). The meat had a nice balance of flavors and was cooked to perfection. I will be ordering again and excited to try some of the other items.

I went there yesterday after a long day hoping to have a margarita and a taco with my mom and child. my child ordered cod nuggets and fries. I asked her if I could taste it because she usually gets a hot dog, the very first one I bit into was frozen and not cooked. I’m glad it was me that ate it and not her but I was very disappointed because I loved going there but I will never go back.

Very different menu than any other taco place, but everything is soo good. The tacos are very filling and stuffed into a not so typical taco shell that does not crumble when you bite it. Being our first time there it was hard to choose what to order with the many yummy options. The kids pizza is like a yummy grill cheese on a tortilla. One pie is 10” and good for 2 small kids. The cashier mentioned if we download the app and register we can get a $5 off coupon. Place is a little pricey but considering the what you get it’s reasonable. Don’t over order because the tacos are filling.
