Hidden gem for sure. Top O’ The River is a must while visiting south central Tennessee. The food was plentiful and tasty. Seriously think about splitting a meal between the two of you. Was surprised when my seafood platter came out and the plate was actually a “platter”. More than enough food for two to three individuals. Service was quick and friendly. Food was simply amazing.

Traveling from Minnesota on a trip to the bird dog museum and to visit friend n Tennessee. We stopped for lunch at Top of the River. The atmosphere was great, decor even better. The wait staff was excellent, even though they had no recommendations for what to get. We went with the largest sea food platter in the world. We started off with cornbread, onions, and coleslaw. When the platter came it was an excellent choice. The catfish was ok but the balance of the shrimp and crab were excellent. The hush puppies were the best we have had. This is a must stop location in Tennessee.

Great food and excellent service. The food was hot and fresh. They provide cornbread in a black skillet when you arruve and slaw in a tin cup. The cornbread was really good. A classic southern staple done right! The fish was good and served piping hot. Our waitress was by every few minutes to see if we needed anything and made sure to keep our drinks full as well.

Great atmosphere , food was pretty good but quite pricey for what you get. Fish dinner consisted of very small filets some were over cooked and crunchy, cole slaw was good, hushpuppies were ok , I ordered onion rings and got two. Literally 2 onion rings. Probably won’t go again.

The food was great tasting and plentiful. The turnip greens are wonderful. The staff was attentive, courteous, and prompt. Only complaint the women’s bathroom stalks are a little tight feeling.

Our third visit to this Wonderful restaurant in the middle of no where. Just a 20 minute drive from Savannah, Tn. But, on our first visit we thought is it worth driving this far for catfish! YES, this is one of our favorite catfish & seafood restaurants in this area. Love the fresh hot cornbread & coleslaw. And the menu has something for everyone. Sometimes you will have to wait for a table, but it is worth the wait. Shiloh National Military Park is about 15 from Michie, Tn. You will pass 4 other catfish restaurants along the way. So far Top O the River is our favorite. Give it a try!

I had a great perfectly cooked medium steak and baked potato and salad. I enjoyed everything about the food. The server was super sweet. The only thing I noticed was there was A LOT of servers and they looked like college aged. Which is great. It is a very large restaurant and was told that they get very busy on the weekends.
