Stopped by Tops for some great Memphis BBQ yesterday evening. It’s a great experience that takes you back in time. Always greeted when you enter by the counter folks. You can hear the chopping of the meat, the cry of “order up” and the smile of the server bringing it out for you!

We are big TOPS fans. Probably best BBQ in Memphis. My 4 yr old granddaughter here for the first time and liked it. Wish they had a kids menu, or at least kids sizes.

Some of the best pulled pork that has set on my pallet in some time now. Sauce was perfectly matched blend of sweet and tangy. Slaw nicely cooled the robust explosion of the baked beans. The place was a disaster, cleanliness wise. Floors were littered with bits and pieces and the trash can was an overflowing mess. Had to scan around a bit for a clean table to perch for lunch. Bathrooms were even worse. The atmosphere is what killed it today. The food was so good I actually made a second order of a bacon cheeseburger to-go for later on tonight.

This TOPS location is trash!! Home of poor service, dirty tables, and small portions. Took forever for anyone to even approach the front counter. I saw a few people walk out after i sat down. Every table was dirty, have to ask for napkins to clean your own i guess. Trash was overflowing, and it wasnt lack of staff, there was like 10 people working. My Jumbo bbq sandwich was smaller than most places regular size sandwich, about 8 french fries, & 5 bites of beans. Will NEVER be back.

The staff are so great!! They make you feel so comfortable. They are always smiling and upbeat. Can change your whole day. The manager has an excellent crew. She trained them well.

So I work the night shift. 6:30 pm to 5 am. Finding a place to get some breakfast is hard. Taco Bell has a breakfast menu but is not open. Burger King has a breakfast menu but is not open. Sonic is not open. I then remembered seeing a sign at Tops for breakfast! Let me just tell u when I say amazing it was amazing. I had the brisket and cream cheese breakfast sandwich. The young lady at the drive thru told it was good but it was way better than good. It was phenomenal. Wish I could show you a pic, but it didn’t last long enough to get one.

My experience was horrible! I ordered the fire-braised chicken nachos! Which on the Uber eats site the nachos are supposed to have:chips,shredded chicken, bbq beans, white queso, lettuce, tomato and jalapeños! When I received my nachos it only had chips,chicken and white queso! I was very disappointed because it’s not what I wanted but I ate a few anyway! I ate the remainder the next day and a little while later became very I’ll as if I developed flu like symptoms: body aches, chills, fatigue, weakness. My stomach begin to hurt as if I had to vomit, I tried to ignore it but eventually had to let it out! This was a bad experience and I definitely do not plan on eating here ever again!
