Second time here, got the Philly and fries again because it was so good the first time. My friend got a spicy chicken sandwich she said it was good. It looked beautiful but not sure that it was fresh chicken, the grill marks appeared too uniform and not sure there is an actual grill in the kitchen however. I could be mistaken. The Philly had a lot of pieces of fat mixed in it this times. Fries were hot, fresh and excellent!

They’re not afraid to use salt in their cooking. Eesh…I bet their beverage sales are phenomenal as a result. There’s a wait for the food. Nice outdoor patio/fireplace. After 8 pm or so, the lights dim and music gets louder…no different than most sports bars in a hotel.

Torge’s has that local fit that really cant be beat, from the service at the bar, the server’s bringing you food or drinks at your table, to the live events and patio seating. It really is a place for everyone to get together and have a good time. The walleye bites were some of the best tasting selections I’ve had next to fresh caught out of Iron Lake in Canada. I wouldve liked a bit hotter habanero mango glaze on the wings, but I think that it could have been a premade mixture. A lot of restaurants use a premade mango habanero glaze and some are super spicy others a well balanced. Torge’s was a good balance, not too hot but also not bland, a good mix of a quick kick of heat and a sweet tang of mango. Really didn’t even need the dipping sauce unless they offered extra habanero mango sauce on the side, that would have been a nice addition. I’ll ask for that next time I get to check out the area. The hotel was also recently being renovated and that was a solid improvement from the last time I was there back about 10 or 15 yrs ago. Overall wonderful atmosphere, people and highly recommend it to everyone I know that passes through Austin MN.

There is a decent selection of beers on tap, a lot more in can or bottled. I had the Firecracker boneless wings and they were good.waitress was prompt to greet and serve. I saw her every 5 minutes like clockwork. Great service.

We stopped in on our way from the Milwaukee area on our way to Jackson MN. Servers are attentive – local craft brews were yummy and the food good. The Hawaiian Pork Quinoa bowl is awesome – can recommend the breaded Bella & walleye fingers. If we didn’t have a 2+ hour drive west, we would have stayed for another beverage. Easy on and off the interstate. Sorry we didn’t try this sooner!
