The owner , the daughter and the FOOD AMAZING !! Red snapper, catfish, prawns , hot water cornbread, greens , yams , Mac and cheese!! EVERYTHING PHENOMENAL… The owner was the only cook .. PURE LOVE FOR THIS ESTABLISHMENT.. Food was so good , didn’t take a picture. Will get you a picture later . Lol … COME HERE ASAP..

Tori a sister at the front of the house was amazing. The food was unfortunately not the best. The sides were horrible… yams/sweet potatoes were watered down and the consistency of soup no flavor. Mac and cheese only hade cheese on top and was not good at all and bland. The greens watered and no seasoning and wasn’t completely done. The peace cobbler was not the definition of a peach cobbler.

Ok the service was amazing. The chicken was great. Unfortunately the yams are watery and soupy and SPICY not sweet. The Mac has lots of pepper but no salt. The cobbler… is the real reason I had to leave a review. It is spicy and not sweet but also watery soup with little to no sugar. There is no crust and the peaches are not good. The corn bread was amazing too. I’m sorry and sad to say the sides are made with no love or effort. TASTE TEST before charging very high prices please.

Omg I found my new favorite corn bread spot. They make it in a pancake shape loved it. Also they had the best fried catfish in my top #5 forsure gonna be coming back soon. Prices are really fair great atmosphere

Competion is tough. So clean up your area & redecorate. Furniture looks like stuff people put out on a curb. I’ve been there before despite atmosphere food was good. This time not so much. EVERYthing was spicy and had vinegar taste the greens, fried chicken even meatloaf. Never had spicy hot meatloaf. $45 a waste of money. Next time for same money I’ll go across town.

Sacramento we need to better…sorry but this place isn’t the greatest for sides, .the greens seem like they came from the can , and the mac cheese was creamy but not with cheese… rice and gravy was ok…not much flavor the red onion and celery were so big chopped it was off putting to the size container..the cornbread shaped like Mickie mouse head was the best thing I had…was disappointed ordered peach cobbler…they sent banana pudding…yeah they could have kept that stuff.

Excellent soul food only rated lower on service because they forgot my prawns with the fish and prawn order. Called them up to explain and they quickly stated they DID include them. I’m not the type of person to get over and would NOT drive all the way back (I’m not close by) if they had included the prawns. Plus the bag was labeled just fish and usually it will say fish, prawns and whatever my side is… This was very insulting and not customer service focused. So note to others, STOP and CHECK your order before you leave as this has happened more than once…last few times it was the side order of greens or black eyed peas that was forgotten. Other than that, the food IS good and I do recommend.
