Amazing experience! Great concept of omakase – the whole experience reflects the chef’s personality in a very unique way.

Truly incredible! Hard reservation to get but worth every bit (and bite). The dinner and ambiance was so intimate, we felt like we had a private chef in our home. I can’t even pick my favorite dish, they were all so good!! The scallop sauce I could drink. Seriously, wow! I don’t live in Austin, but I will go every chance I get.

Toshokan is a relatively new Omakase experience in Austin, just opened its doors in March 2022. Their reservations are highly sought after- typically fully booked within seconds of dropping. They have been nice enough to drop reservations at different times of the day, for the following month. Best to follow their Instagram account for announcements on reservation drops.

All I can say is you have to try it for yourself. Yes it’s worth staying up to get that reservation. The small group, quality of food and service… can’t be compared to anything. I have been to many upscale restaurants across the world. This takes the cake.

TLDR recap: Toshokan is a must try in Austin, get a reservation, following toshokanatx on IG and there is paid street parking.

Excellent sushi, great variety and fusion of foods. Excellent Wasabi and kizami Wasabi. I felt like the 14 course meal was plenty but they do have the option of adding on a few more bites. Overall, it was an excellent experience that was worth the wait (it’s quite hard to get a reservation). I do think it’s pretty comparable to other omakase experiences in Austin (like sushi by scratch) and similarly priced. I did like that they were accommodating of dietary restrictions (I do not eat beef). Staff was very friendly and the bar tender did such an excellent job with the sake pairing and the cocktails.

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten in my life. The otoro was the best tuna belly I’ve ever had, and I’m certain i will never have another “‘meat and potatoes” dish like Saine’s interpretation of meat and potatoes. The entire staff was lovely and the experience was such a treat.

If there was 6 stars they would deserve every single one of them. Absolutely the best dining experience I have ever had. Food quality was top notch, as well as the service!

The best dining experience we have ever had! Reservations go quick but it’s definitely worth it. Chef Saine, Hunter and Wyn set the bar very high for our future Omakase adventures.
