Hadn’t eaten all day, so I had a powerful craving for BBQ and decided to stop in for lunch. Given I was ravenous, I ordered a three meat plate with some green beans and coleslaw. I chose the sliced brisket, pork ribs, and spicy sausage. I started with the coleslaw, which was done perfectly, not overly sweet, chunky cuts, and well dressed (not dry). The green beans, too, were seasoned well, and since they were French cut, the flavorings absorbed right in. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone and had a great bark. The sausage was indeed spicy, causing a slight sheen on the top of my head. The brisket must have had a quarter inch smoke ring on it, which gave it tremendous smoky flavor. It was a great meal, making me a very happy Native Texan.

Would rate it 4.5 stars. I had the burnt ends and they were good but not great. They didn’t have as much flavor as great burnt ends should have. The sauces were quite good and a mixture of regular and spicy worked for me. The coleslaw was excellent.

This bbq is amazing! We were just passing through and lucked out. Friendly and helpful staff. We had chopped brisket with chilies, loaded mashed potatoes, green beans, sausage-all was so yummy! Perfectly cooked and juicy, full of flavor. We will be making a point to drive through Artesia just for this food!!

Stopped there between Carlsbad Cavern and Alamogordo for a brisket sandwich. We were a bit late so we had what was left: chopped brisket sandwich. It was excellent and the three young people who were working were amazingly nice and friendly. We had a nice chat with them and they treated us to some extras since they were closing shortly. So thank you so much for making our stop in Artesia more memorable than we expected, especially with the peach cobbler that we both enjoyed.

I love this place. There are several types of chicken wings. You can mix and match them to create your own little combo. The liaded mashed potatoes are a must have. They are really good but slightly spicer than regular mashed potatoes as the come with green chilis. The service was awesome as everyone was super friendly and understanding when someone in my party relized they ordered the wrong dish.

Good BBQ just wish my food was warmer i got the brisket sliced sandwitch wasnt offered toppings for it or told they had it i asumed it came with it and the brisket was cold domt get me wrong it was good just wish the food was warm

If you like tough brisket!! Then this is the place, got a sandwich to go and it’s not even edible, didn’t realize til I was 10 miles out of town. Gotta buy lunch again in the next town definitely disappointed
