Four strangers walk into a bar…
… and 30 years later they open a restaurant
30 years ago, four people working in the hospitality industry met in a bar on Toulouse Street in the great city of New Orleans. Over time they became friends and when the first one, Jon, moved away, he stated, our paths will cross again. Sure enough, over the next three decades, they worked together and apart in establishments across the United States, including San Francisco, Telluride, Chicago, New York, Washington DC and of course The Big Easy. When COVID hit an opportunity presented itself and Toulouse was born.
Based on 285 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.4 stars. Price

Haven’t had a good burger like this one, perfectly cooked. The meat so fresh and tender. Medium is a good choice.

The gumbo is a bit cold. I recommend the shrimp and grits while I wish the portion can be larger. It’s a cozy place for dinner.

Very nice local restaurant, staff was super friendly and accommodating. Food was ok, might be too spicy for some but there are options that aren’t. Had plenty of Cajun and this just mostly seemed to have Cajun spice trying to make it Cajun. Shrimp and Grits had lumps and seemed to have been frozen and thawed. For the price, make the grits fresh.

We had breakfast at Toulouse. The restaurant has a large outdoor patio, so it’s great when the weather permits. It was nice overall. The service was great. The food is just okay but slightly overpriced, to my opinion. You have your usual breakfast options.

You know it is a winner when you have only had the first course and are ready to start writing a review because the first impression is so high level.

Really nice place, off the normal path. Nice relaxed atmosphere and the people were very helpful and attentative. Great New Orleans (and more!) inspired dishes. We will definitely return when in the area again!

It’s a beautiful restaurant, food is prepared well and delicious, our server is amazing, and most of all, they allowed our baby puppy to enter the restaurant (for outdoor seating).

We went to South Lake Tahoe over the weekend for a concert. As we headed out of town the following morning, we found a breakfast/brunch spot off the beaten path. I had the fried egg bacon and cheese sandwich on sourdough with country potatoes and it was tasty and the portion was great. My friend had the quinoa bowl and said it was good as a vegan option.

What an ABSOLUTE unexpected New Orleans themed gem in South Lake. Service, food, ambiance…. I’d give it a 100 if I could! I had a pleasure and privilege to experience this awesome

This is a little out of the way place. It seems pretty quiet here. The food was really good, the chicken was a little dry however. My fiance and I ordered drinks and as a former bartender I can tell you their current bartender is not good. The drinks are too strong. The old fashion did not taste like an old fashion. It tasted like whiskey only. Price was not too bad. My biggest concern would be the mixed drinks, so drink at your own risk.
