We travel to NH to find blueberry milk, in traveling, this is actually this was our 2nd time here. My wife ordered the baked stuffed haddock, I had the swordfish. Both were very good, my wife’s had very good flavor. In the dining room, I certainly like the atmosphere. So many vintage signs there, I’m presuming they are from the area. The place is clean, staff is rather quick and had no issues. We will certainly be back.

Love the Townsend House! Always delicious lunch or supper with a nice home cooked style. I have never been disappointed with the specials, particularly for lunch.

I was there with a group for a meeting. My meal (center-cut steak with mashed potatoes) was delicious and they didn’t skimp on the portions. Service was great (not hard-to-find and not hovering) and the atmosphere / decor was great. Loved the collection of old-timey signs.

This place never disappoints, and reminds me of the restaurant my family had growing up. Amazing crab meat stuffed mushrooms and french onion soup! I ordered take out today, chicken parm….huge portion (I had it for lunch and dinner later), a perfect amount of cheese and breading, pasta was cooked perfectly and sauce was great.

Right near the center of town, the Townsend House is a local staple. The menu isn’t anything super exotic, but it does include enough variety where most diners should be more than content. The daily specials help to add a good degree of variety, and they also have lunch options. There is both a diner side and a lounge side, so diners who don’t want to deal with the noise of the bar have an alternative option. Parking is decent, although on crowded nights, you may find spaces hard to find.

Good home cooked food but!!! They really need to get a ceaser salad dressing up in there. I don’t understand why that is such a tough thing for them to have on had been asking for years if they have it yet always a solid no

We went on a very busy day. The staff were overworked but still courteous. We got our appetizer the same time (maybe a few minutes later) as our meal. Our waitress was so busy we felt bad.
