We are owned and operated by Tyler Haydon, a local chef with experience working at some of the most beloved restaurants in Chicago, including The Chicago Diner, Girl and the Goat, Little Goat, and BLVD. Tyler’s passion for fresh, innovative cuisine is evident in everything we do.
Our menu features seasonal dishes that showcase the best of what VT has to offer. We use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and always experiment with new flavors and techniques. The service was quick and great. The food tasted well. They had both American and Asian style food. It feels a little bit of fusion style. The sweet potato soup was good especially after a day on the mountain. We enjoyed the burgers which were very moist. We liked the fries the seasoning they added on fries were good. There was an issue with my burger but they handled it well and I don’t think this is something they wanted to happen anyways. They have a cute outdoor place with fire pit and in the front they also have a cafe area, which is very cute. I’d recommend this place for sure!

This place is great! It is small and intimate and the food is great. I had the French onion burger, and it was the best burger I have ever eaten! My husband had the chicken platter special and all of the components were delicious, he especially loved the homemade pickles! Our server was friendly and attentive. They also have outdoor seating, which is always a plus. I would definitely recommend eating here if you are anywhere near Dover, VT.

I just finished the burger. Never experienced anything like this before. It’s almost as if the best parts of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten were somehow mysteriously compiled into one and it happened here? Sitting here wondering how I could have lived my life and never known this burger? This burger was my friend. And it’s gone now. I’m sad, but also glad I knew this burger? Strange emotions I wasn’t expecting tonight. Would it be wrong if I ordered another?

Chef Tyler and his team run an incredible restaurant. Our ski group of around 30 were staying at Big Bears Lodge nearby and wanted something special to celebrate. Trail 87 was just the right place! Their focus on fresh and high-quality ingredients made for a tasty pumpkin risotto and a hearty Shorty Pie. Communication with the restaurant was prompt and clear and the food was ready for pickup at the pre-arranged time. They made everything simple for us! The food was a huge hit and I look forward to ordering here again next time.

We had a great summer dinner here in August. We started with Gochujang Buffalo chicken nuggs (which are really boneless chicken wings in a fantastic sauce) that were divine. They were perfectly crispy and flavorful. I had the Vermont cheddar burger with double smash patties that were great. I guess the only thing I would say is that I was pretty sure going in that smash burgers are always well done, but the waitress said it could be done to any level that I like. I ordered medium rare and they were well done, as are all smash burgers. Another person ordered the duck banh mi which was fantastic. The last member of our party had the Italian beef short rib baguette which was tender and flavorful. Overall, a great selection of entrees. The service was excellent. Pricing was appropriate in my opinion for the level of food and service. In summary, we all loved this place and will be back without a doubt.

Great newer place in the Mt Snow area. Menu is small but we ordered several things between 4 people and all were excellent. Wings were tasty, we tried their version of a buffalo which was light on heat but big on flavor. They had an Asian flavor in addition to buffalo. I had a beef sandwich which came with a side of au jus to dip it in. Extremely flavorful and fresh. The table split an order of fries that were seasoned very well, just be aware that they are very thin and many of them are crunchy because of this. We also split an order of house made chips as a side which were very good as well. Honestly we could have done one or the other for 4 people, they are very large baskets! Other things I didn’t try but we’re ordered at the table and I was told they were very good as well were the soup (I believe it was butternut squash), a burger, and a chicken salad. Again everything looked fresh and came with great reviews from the people that are it. Service was excellent, we sat outside at one of the tables on the side. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area!

If I could give 10 more stars for service I would pay google expand their rating system because the folks at this joint deserve it. My friend and I took a weekend getaway to Winhall, ordered pickup here our first night, and found ourselves trapped with the keys locked in the car just 30 minutes before their 10pm closing. We were just looking for a place to wait for AAA, but when we tolk them what happned 3 guys in the back came right out and spent over an hour breaking into the our car with a wire hanger. AAA didn’t even answer, these guys saved our trip and basically our lives. They wouldn’t even accept a tip. This food is made by true, real life heroes.

Trail 87 is our favorite restaurant is West Dover! The menu is innovative and the specials, which sometimes include an amazing curry, are always changing. There are plenty of vegetarian and even vegan options (also plenty of meat!) and the staff take great care to prepare and serve meals that are often locally sourced. The atmosphere and the people are so welcoming to all, including children and dogs 🙂 Special shout outs to: Amanda and Moriah, who offer great service; Tyler, Josh, Dustin, and the rest of the great cooking staff; Mike, the owner, and Casey, the manager, who makes sure everything runs smoothly and always with a smile; and to Connor, an amazing barista at 1A coffee housed within the same great place. They also offer delicious baked goods from Starfire Bakery!
