The food at Trails is some of the best in town. I haven’t ordered anything I don’t like. The appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and burgers are all very good. Their bone-in wings are actually meaty and sauces are really good.

Do not bring your family, especially young children, to Trails in Big Lake, for they are not welcome here. My wife and kids, as well as our friend’s wife and kids were asked after their meal today that we do not come back because our toddlers are too loud and like to play around the table while we dine there. We would go to Trails once or twice a week with these friends, but today we were notified that having our kids along is an issue for their restaurant. Other than not coming back altogether, they also said that maybe they could seat us on the patio away from everyone else, or they could give our kids a “cup of cherries” to keep them quiet while dining. The general manager also lacked the courage to come talk to them themselves and sent the waitress after the bill was paid to share their concern, even as the waitress stated that she “dreaded coming over and telling us this”. If this is the way they want their business to run, that is completely up to them, but let this be advertisement to anyone planning on coming with children, especially toddlers, either bring a strap and bolts to hold them to their chairs (and don’t forget their muzzles!) or try to find a more family friendly place to go for your dining needs. Take it straight from Debbie Workman’s review, your kids aren’t welcome here.

My wife and I always look for different places to go get some good food and atmosphere. We were in luck ! It was Saturday night and it was prime rib special night. I’m a prime rib lover. My wife had the sirloin. That prime rib was one of the best cuts and the flavor was magnificent better than the prime rib I had at a very expensive steak place in Mpls Jacks cafe. The baked potato was perfectly baked my wife loved her steak and her salad was delicious and better than high end restaurants. Chelsie was a great server. I highly recommend this awesome place.

Perfect place to take families as it is a comfortable atmosphere. Large screen TVs everywhere so you can watch the game or pay attention to your friends and family. There is a large bar and they serve a whole host of different drinks. Lots of fun historical memorabilia from the sports teams of the area.

After being a loyal customer for well over a year, ties were quickly severed for us with Trails today. Today, I was there with another mom as well as our 4 children and we were told that there have been multiple complaints that our children are too loud and that even though they are “so little” that we aren’t welcome back unless there is a solution for the “noise.” It is very unfortunate that a “family establishment” could be so insensitive to both struggling moms as well as a child with disabilities. Absolutely will not return and will encourage others to do the same. Very disappointing to say the least.
