My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our way home from a camping trip. We stopped because of their dog friendly deck, and we are glad we stopped! The service was incredibly friendly, quick, and efficient. The lunch menu seemed a little limited in its options, but both my husband and I found food to order. He got a chicken wrap, and I got a turkey sandwich. Both items were delicious! The chicken & turkey were moist, and the food had great flavor! The sizes of the portions were perfect, and the cost was appropriate. The staff brought out a bowl of water and gave us some milk bone treats to give our dog.

So before I say anything the restaurant is awesome staff are very friendly and do great work. Having said that we ordered the prime rib in was a all right 20-25$ prime rib but not $45 by any means the potato was just kinda cut and sprinkled a bit of a single strip of bacon and nothing else also the root beer (being no refills) was in a small glass. The waitress saved the meal though with her service that’s for sure but I’m not sure we would repeat our choice sadly.

We stopped on Easter Sunday and they had a limited menu. The service was excellent, but I think the cook was from the B team. I asked for steak to be about 145° and only have garlic and pepper for the seasoning…… I got the seasoning and the steak wasn’t dry but it was cooked all the way. 145 is medium, there wasn’t any punk left in the meat. I understand that a restaurant need to make money but to charge me $25 for a $5 steak and $1 potato and not bring it out as I have asked for it.

Stopped here on our way to a concert in Duluth. Waited up front for 10 minutes had to finally find someone to ask if we can sit wherever. We were maybe 1 of 5-6 tables in the place. The food took over 40 minutes.. took them about 35 minutes after putting our order in for them to come back and say everything is done but they didn’t have mashed potatoes so I had to pick a different side. Food was alright but cold. Waiter was super nice but wouldn’t stop again unfortunately.

It was an unexpected surprise to find out that a place named “Trapper Pete’s” has a decent sized vegan menu!

Well, I can’t say everything was bad at this place. The appetizer we had (Lobster & Shrimp dip w/toasted bread was to die for, The service was good, but there were so many other issues that I couldn’t just rate a 5 star For one thing, this place is called a “Steakhouse,” but there wasn’t a lot of steak to choose from. I ordered the Filet Mingnon, and they didn’t have any, so I ordered the ribeye. Well, on the menu, it says 16oz , but what it doesn’t tell you is that it has a bone, so technically, you are only getting about 12 oz of meat. It was very thin, but I have to say it had a really good flavor, and it was cooked the way I like it. We also ordered a Sangria that was on the drink menu, and they were out of it. (huh)? Also it comes with a baked potato and you can have ” loaded baked potato if you want, so I asked for that (the menu said the loaded potato had cheese, bacon a green onions on it) but it had very little cheese and no green onions and they said, ” oh we don’t add the green onions anymore “, (Then why is it on the menu). We had a couple of drinks, and our bill was about $130.00.Even though the steak was pretty good, the whole atmosphere and the things went wrong. The whole cost was pretty steep. 6 beware before going to this place. They might be out of something you wanted and bring extra money.

Our first time there and it was really good. The staff was very nice. The food was really good which has not been our luck lately when picking restaurants. Service was a little slow because nobody can get enough people to work in Minnesota. I had the steak tips with mashed potatoes, vegetables and gravy. I loved it. My wife had the steak salad, my daughter and son in-law had wraps, one granddaughter had a burger and the other had grilled. Everyone liked their food and everyone had something different which means the whole menu is good. It’s a clean and nice looking place. We will go back.

I’ve lived in Cloquet my whole life. My bf and I decided to finally try it out. He ordered the prime rib. It was cold, and still had silver/blue skin. I ordered steak tips. Mine weren’t awful, but no flavor unfortunately. We each had a side of mashed potatoes as well. These were cold and crunchy- like they had been microwaved. They were so salty that they instantly made my stomach hurt. We ended up asking for our check and brought out steak and prime rib home and doctoring them up ourselves. We paid $105 and ended up not being able to eat anything. We were super bummed!
