The food was very very good, and our server was great, but I was extremely disappointed and confused with one aspect of it. I got the Polpette meatballs, which came on a bed of delicious red sauce and absolutely covered in cheese. Great combination, great ratios.

No photos, we inhaled the food! Authentic recipes, quality ingredients and unparalleled service. Allergy friendly with gluten-free and nondairy items. Don’t let the modest appearance fool you, this is the real thing. You do not have to order multiple courses.Great wine menu and excellent location, too. Make a reservation, they fill up fast and will not seat you. If you’re with a large group, come early for a wine tasting next door. We will tell all our friends.

We’ve been coming to this place every time we are in Bend for the last few years. I love the alla carrettiera sauce. It’s the perfect red sauce, the capers make it divine. It’s literally my favorite pasta dish. I’ve always gotten it on handmade pasta, because who wants imported penne when they make handmade pasta at the restaurant????, but was recently told they no longer allow this change. Even if my husband offered to switch out the handmade pasta in his dish for mine, they said no. This is an extremely elitist and anti-customer attitude to have. We have canceled our plans to dine here in the future.

Italian restaurants can be so hit or miss that we rarely go out for Italian – as in I think we have been out for Italian food maybe 4 times in the last 5 years, including this dinner. I am a very particular person when it comes to dining out – we have been in the food service industry basically forever, so we have high expectations when we go out for a nice meal. I made a reservation for my fiancés birthday and was a little nervous based on the mixed reviews here, but I took a risk! We are so thrilled that we took the leap with this one! The tagliatelle with mushrooms and the filet entree special were both fantastic – I would eat this every day if I could (I would be as big as a house, but that’s irrelevant here )! The pasta was, and I don’t use this word often when describing food – especially pasta, perfectly cooked, the texture was perfect – it’s right up there with some really nice Italian places in New York (better than 1 of them) – seriously, it is. The server was nice and friendly. I didn’t use the bathroom, so I can’t speak to that as others have. The 2 things I would suggest would be to have better by the glass wine options, the reds specifically. They aren’t terrible, but at the same time, they are not exciting and they could be soooo much better. Also, please update the menu on the website. People – do yourselves a favor and go eat some pasta and steak! I can’t wait to go back for our next date night!

My wife and I went with friends for our anniversary. The server was openly rude to us. She argued with my wife about how she wanted her food. As well as left the table while taking orders and flat out ignored some of my guests. Had i not paid a $70 deposit for the reservation i would have left there. Most of our food was over salted or just bland.

Went here to celebrate our anniversary & while our server wasn’t the friendliest, their authentic Italian food made up for it. Everything we tried was phenomenal, especially the meatballs! Also, the ciabatta bread is made with Italian flour and didn’t hurt my gluten sensitive stomach. Win-Win!Trattoria Sbandati is probably our fav Italian restaurant splurge in Bend.

Went to Trattoria Sbandati for the first time with high hopes and expectations and was very disappointed. My wife’s cod dish was dry and tough and my pasta ragu was overcooked and soggy. Our server was disinterested in what she was doing, the place was so loud you could not even have a normal conversation, and the restrooms were dirty. Will not be going back. If you are looking for good Italian food in a nice atmosphere in Bend, try Bosa or Nome.
