Went in for my birthday having turned 40 years old. I ordered the 20 oz steak special with balsamic glaze because I wanted something special. I was shocked to get the bill and see the price was $95 for the steak, when their regular steak item on the menu is around $54. Still stewing after returning home I called them to ask about their specials for takeout which they refused to confirm over the phone. It’s one thing to get ripped off randomly but it stings a lot more when trying to celebrate a special occasion. Can’t tell at this point if I’m celebrating their birthday or mine.

Friendly welcome for dinner with bread and olive oil and vinaigrette. The house Chianti was decent. We sat outdoors and the weather was perfect but the mosquitos were not so we moved indoor to the bar. Preston was our waiter. He was pleasant but not as attentive as we hoped. Service overall was very good. The bartender was fun and friendly. The chef even came out to our table to make a suggestion and prepared us an off menu sea bass and red sauce with capers and veggies plate which was incredibly flavorful. All menu items including the dessert we ordered were delicious. Although it was not an event during our visit, we were informed by the bartender that live musicians perform towards the weekends. Check their website for more information. This may be a new regular place we visit. Great food and service. Nice atmosphere.

We were very fortunate to find this place on the way back home from Oceanside. It happened to be Chef Pietro’s Birthday and he personally seated us and gave us each a glass of champagne to help him celebrate. Our server; Tanya, was amazing! We started off with the mussels and clams appetizer – WOWZA! I have to admit, we were plenty full with just the appetizer alone between two people. But we had to try out a couple of Tanya’s (server) suggestions for our main dish – lasagna con ragu e prosciutto cotto and the pappardelle con funghi. Now if you LOVE the taste of mushrooms as much as I do, the pappardelle is a MUST HAVE. The servings do not leave you wanting here. Everything is made fresh on-site… Yes, the pasta as well. It makes all the difference in the world! I am sensitive to gluten, and had zero problems eating the bread or pasta. We will definitely be back… and with more people to share the deliciousness with!

I had an extremely unpleasant dining experience at this restaurant. We endured a wait of over 30 minutes for our food, and when I requested to speak with the manager (which turned out to be the owner) about the delay, he responded aggressively, saying, “I’m Italian, and good food takes time.” His demeanor was combative and he seemed more interested in proving himself right than addressing our concerns. Furthermore, the food itself was overly salty, as if someone had “accidentally” spilled salt into it. It was disappointing to learn that the manager (which is the owner) also served as the cook. If one lacks the ability to provide good customer service or cook properly, they should reconsider their place in the kitchen and avoid speaking rudely to customers.
