Pretty decent take on so-called “Hawaiian Food” plate lunches endemic in HI…where I used to live. The best dish here would be the Kalbi, which is actually adopted from Korean food. Plate lunches in HI include several different cultural dishes from various traditions. Sadly, my fav, Lau Lau is not made here…nor is true Kalua Pork. The plate lunches here will fill you up and the place is clean. Nice stop after one shops at the Weds Farmers Market in the parking lot at 8AM.

First time trying this unique take on bbq. A little Asian a little Hawaiian. A blend of good taste, good prices, and new flavors this may be a new go to a few times a month.

Excellent service accompanied by chill vibes and delicious understated bites. This place is NOT a fancy tiny plate restaurant…It’s not supposed to be! This is where you go when you wanna feel like you just walked off the beach and need to fill your belly and soul with good food and mellow feels. Great value and it’s always consistently tasty! If I had one criticism to give, it would only be that the cabbage is cut a little large for my liking, I prefer somewhere around 1” wide strips so I don’t have to cut them or stuff a whole one in my mouth but it’s such a small thing and I’ve never really minded that much. All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you’re in the mood for big plates and big smiles! Much ❤️

Four of us went and got different things to try. The winners were the Katsu Chicken and the Beef. The macaroni salad and rice was tasty too. The servings were huge, we’ll be choosing single meat dinners from now on and sharing. The prices were very reasonable for how much food we got. This is just the restaurant we needed in the area to add a little diversity.

I have eaten here several times. The consistency of the product can vary, mostly the beef. Overall, though, it is pretty good. Never anybody inside eating, not sure why. The crab Rangoon is good.

I used to love this place. But apparently there’s a new owner and it’s going down hill! The workers were SO rude! The guy taking our order had headphones in and was talking on the phone the whole time. We used to be able to customize plates, but we can’t do that anymore. Seriously not impressed. I gave it 3 stars because even though the katsu chicken was very dry, the rest of the food wasn’t half bad.

Their chicken katsu is very unique. It is super light and very crispy at the same time. Their fish as well is very creamy. Pretty big portions would recommend saving it for 2 meals if you can. Everything else is pretty standard and pretty good overall.

The spam musubi was good value and tasted good! The beef and sides were good but the bbq chicken wasn’t my favorite. It’s grilled chicken breast and didn’t have much flavor…

I had a favorite Hawaiian BBQ restaurant in OC, I’ve been wanting to find one here. Tropical Hawaiian BBQ is now my overall favorite. Their Katsu and beef combo is so good, the rice, macaroni salad, and cabbage are tasty, too!
