“As a professional restaurant foodie, I was thoroughly impressed with my dining experience at the Truckee Tavern and Grill. The pork chop was expertly cooked, with incredible flavors and a generous portion size. The house salad was also a standout. Service was top-notch, with friendly and efficient staff. To finish off the meal, I indulged in the delectable carrot cake – its flavors simply melted in my mouth. I will definitely be returning to this establishment when in the area.”

Maybe we just didn’t order the right things, but this was a real disappointment for us. The mixed green salad was good but not remarkable, and we ordered the halibut for dinner, which was pretty tasteless and not something I would ever order again. Maybe the steaks and burgers are better here.

Maitre d was very snobbish, oh we can’t find seats for 7 on a holiday weekend you need to make reservations. So we sat at the bar the bartender was wonderful. We ordered a few things was not impressed at all. Very disappointed. When we left there was more than enough room still in the bar and the restaurant. I can see where this is a fashion type of place to get custom-made drinks but if you want to throw your hard-earned money towards the food I wouldn’t do it. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I give this place five stars and here is why.. Annie at the bar was extremely welcoming and really cared to make sure we had a great experience. The food could’ve been tastier but that’s ok! One thing that I will address as a concern is that no place should have multiple servers hanging out in the kitchen area talking … the bartender had to play hostess and tend to a busy bar while others were hanging out in the back. You could tell she really cared about her job and her guests. Thank you Annie and thank you Truckee tavern for a great spot!

The menu is not large by any means but the space itself makes up for that. Situated upstairs, this massive three room restaurant has some incredible ambiance. There’s two bars, three seating areas, and an outside terrace. Great place for happy hour or a cocktail. Their homemade lemonade is to die for.
