Good not great!! I really enjoyed this bbq experience. Family down in south Texas been telling me I have to try True Texas BBQ. So I went and I ordered a platter of everything. Sliced Turkey, sliced beef brisket, burnt ends, potato salad, Mac and cheese, extra onions and of course cornbread. Turns out it wasn’t bad at all. The staff was friendly and accommodating when I asked for a new knife and board so I don’t have any pork mixed into my meal. Very good, want to come back and try the Texas sized beef brisket sandwich. The fatty pc of brisket that I got was really tender and tasty, the turkey was nothing special but I appreciated pepper crust. The cornbread was soft buttery and had bits of jalapeños.

True Texas BBQ located inside HEB is really delicious. I would definitely suggest going here and will definitely frequent this restaurant if I coincide it with a shopping trip to HEB. The Texas Twinkies were really delicious. Their is better BBQ out their but for a location inside a grocery store this food was tender, delicious and flavorful. Price was decent and staff was very friendly and efficient. Brisket was very tender too. The Potato it was ladled over seemed nearly as big as a football.

If this is how Texas BBQ is supposed to taste then this is not it for me! The Mac and cheese was cold and squishy it had no flavor and was curdled like it was old and sitting around… The brisket baked beans was mostly sauce with about 30% beans it was hot temperature wise but they didn’t really have a taste except for spicy so they get one star there. The burnt ends were dry…. The bbq sauce was really good and I would buy that bottled up. But other wise save your money and go somewhere else’s guys…. Just go and get a pack of fresh tortillas!!!

This place isn’t great but pretty good being they are in a giant supermarket! The best things was the strawberry lemonade, the butter (almost taste like the cream cheese on a Cinnabon) they put on the spicy cornbread and of course the ice!

Pros first: The ribs, turkey, bananna pudding, and cornbread were pretty good. Mac n cheese was good but room temperature.Employees were super nice and asked if we needed anything as they walked by, continued cleaning everything the whole time during our visit. VEry clean! Cons: The Brisket beans were horrible because of the dry Brisket in them. Sliced Brisket was dry and the pulled pork was not good, dry and sweet.Peach cobbler had 2 tiny peaches in it, it was all crust.Sides need to be kept hot! Will give another try after they have been opened longer.

We ate here recently and it was great food. We are from San Antonio so HEB is a household name. We love our HEB, but this place was fantastic. The food was great, we sampled the turkey, lean and fatty brisket, and chopped brisket too. (They don’t have samples, we just bought a lot). My favorite was the turkey, it wasn’t dry, and had good flavor. Brisket had the same great flavor, not dry. I would have liked to go earlier in the day and maybe get a juicier piece. While it was not dry, it wasn’t really moist. Flavors were good, sauce is tasty, I like the Texas spicy blend, the sweet, eh not so much. The sweet tea was nice and fresh (IFYKYK) and they had a nice variety of drinks. I had coleslaw and potato salad for sides, which were good, but I’m super picky about flavors. I like my coleslaw a little sweeter, and it tasted like something was missing. Lemon, vinegar, not sure. I like mustard potato salad so I’m picky. I know it sounds kinda negative, but I really liked the food, it was tasty. I absolutely recommend trying it out. Solid BBQ and prices are reasonable for what you get.

Second visit, the ribs weren’t as good – too saucy and overly spicy, the pulled pork was dry and the burnt ends had too much sauce when they should have none.

Best experience. 6 cars ahead in the drive through and the line move quickly. Leny the associate was great, awesome personality, we laughed and talk briefly as my order was being prepared. The food was good as well, the collard greens and Mac and cheese yummy the brisket was tender and enough sauce on it. will definitely return in the future.

True Texas BBQ is very good. We had the Fatty Brisket and Ribs. We would have tried the sausage but the were sold out. The Ribs tasted good but were a little bit fatty. The Brisket is top-notch. I really liked the Creamed Corn which seemed to have a hint of Garlic Butter.
