I’ve been wanting to try True Texas BBQ for awhile and it did not disappoint. We had the pulled pork sandwich, sliced brisket sandwich, Mac n cheese, fried okra, dirty fries, blueberry cobbler, and banana pudding. Everything was wonderful. The bbq sauces were delicious and I enjoyed the selection of teas and lemonades. Also, the pickles were surprisingly tasty. I will be returning in the future.

I see a lot of bad reviews but despite the reviews, we decided to try it out. We ordered 1.5 lbs of pulled pork, and a medium side of fried okra. The pulled pork was moist, perfect mix of salty and sweet, and is DEFINITELY on-par with most BBQ joints in my area. The fried okra was crunchy, savory, and not overly-greasy. The only complaint I had is they only gave me 4 slices of bread for 1.5 lbs of pork so we had to use some bread from the pantry instead. Other than that the customer service was and our food was ready within 5 minutes of ordering. Would definitley recommend!

My husband got pulled pork sandwich, very little flavor he had to put extra BBQ sauce on to save it. His mac n’ cheese was awful, clumpy and bland. I got the lean sliced brisket sandwich. It was tender but flavor-wise just ok. Long wait time for food and only two other people in there. But for $4 pork sandwich and $6.80 brisket sandwich, good value for the amount of meat they put on there, it filled us up.

I’m impressed with this place! The Brisket was top notch, that alone deserves 5 stars!! It was juicy, tender, buttery, fall apart and amazing! Best sliced brisket I’ve had in years! I got the fatty cuts. Also ordered the turkey breast which is the reason for 4 stars, it was very tasty, great flavor but my wife and I have had juicier more flavorful at other places (not kerrville though). Overall, ill definitely be coming back, especially on a cheat day to get all the sides and deserts that all look amazing! I eat keto, so I was a bit limited this time.

This was my 2nd visit was April 6th, 2023. I enjoy the food but on this day the service was not welcoming. Closes at 9 pm, walked in at 8:20 pm to sit down to eat. The cashier said we had to purchase a bottles drink because there was no more tea or fountain drinks. The BBQ sauces were also cleaned out. He seemed ready to go, little conversation and never a smile or eye contact. When my order came out it was made as to go order like we were not welcomed to sit down to eat. I had to ask the lady who brought out our food for BBQ sauce and apologized for the cashiers behavior. While eating the cashier emptied out tea that was still in the dispensers. Not sure we could not purchase this wasted tea. There were 3 more customers that came after us and all had to go orders. I wonder if it was by choice. I will continue to eat here because the food is great.
