I have eaten at this location countless times and had an awesome meal, but today ruined this. I asked for a lean brisket sandwich and it was anything but lean, when I asked for this to be corrected, they took the fat off my brisket reducing it 3 pieces of brisket smaller than the bun. I indicated that was unacceptable and I expected more meat. The manager indicated all the brisket is going to have fat and he couldn’t do anything else. I had them refund the sandwich and went to get Chicken Strips.

The service could have been better…I found this place coming back from San Antonio and just wanted BBQ…the Brisket Nachos were AWESOME…but the service received from Crassandra was poor to say the least…then I told her the Sweet Tea was empty and was told that she just changed it…but when I returned to it it was still empty…I asked her again and she rolled her eyes and said she just did it…don’t let the poor service keep you from GREAT food though.

I was excited to try the beef dinosaur rib that two different Seguin H-E-B employees had told us about. They said it was $20 for about 1.5 to 2.0 lbs of meat. The ad on the monitor looked great. I bought one today & took it home. I weighed it because it looked rather small. It only weighed 14.1 ounces with the bone still in it! I love some fat, but this one had way too much fat & way too much salt! Weighed the bone by itself & it weighed 4.1 ounces. I just paid $20 for 10 ounces of highly fatty meat. Well at least my cats liked it even though one almost choked on the large amounts of fat. I called True Texas BBQ & all they said is we just cut & cook what they send us. They never once apologized. I cannot recommend this cut of meat at all. I will highly recommend their brisket & delicious turkey though!

Surprisingly good! We had wanted to try HEB’s take on barbecue but had not yet had the chance. Our GPS suggested True Texas as an option while we were traveling and we decided to stop (not realizing that True Texas = HEB). The chopped brisket sandwich was delicious and my wife really enjoyed her smoked turkey sandwich. We will definitely go back in the future.

It’s hard to write this review because I LOVE HEB and their products. Sadly, the True Texas BBQ was not what I expected of an HEB product. We had the brisket and ribs, both tasted gamey and like the smell of a slaughter house. This definitely did not taste like quality meat. The sides: Beans, Potato Salad, and Coleslaw were all underwhelming. They tasted like the stuff you buy in the cold section. Little flavor and bland seasoning. Last the Dessert: We tried the Strawberry Cobbler and Peach Cobbler both of which tasted like mushy cake bread with flavorless toppings. The only thing that tasted good was the Iced Tea. I would give it a 0 if I could. Definitely not having this BBQ ever again. 🙁

Inside an H-E-B so parking is horrendous. Service once you order is very fast. Nice comfortable dining room. I got the three meat plate with coleslaw and green beans. Brisket, sausage, and pulled pork for $16 with water.

HEB never disappoints and True Texas BBQ is no exception! We were a little unsure of trying grocery store BBQ, but this is some of the best, most consistent BBQ around. We make sure to stop by anytime we are near an HEB that has True Texas BBQ.

Not BBQ. Really disappointed as this is my BBQ night in TX. Axis IPA was good. I should have known as it is embedded in HEB Grocery which I like. Its just baked and flavored. Hotel recommended. I’ll break it her.
