Tsunami sushi was opened in May of 2021 by a group of Medical professionals that have a passion for Asian food. They brought in Chef Chuy who was trained by master sushi chefs from Japan and has been serving up some of the best Sushi in South Texas for more than 20 years.
The restaurant is a mix of traditional Sashimi, Maki, Temaki, and Nigiri, as well as raw and fried sushi rolls that incorporate many local flavors such as Serrano peppers, chamoy, and hot Cheetos.
Fresh Fish arrives whole on Tuesdays and Thursdays and is cut and filleted the same day. The result is fish that melts in your mouth. If you love quality sushi or prefer a roll with a local flair, this is the place for you.

This is honestly my favorite place to go. Very friendly staff. Great service and the food is fresh, interesting, and extremely tasty! The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual which makes it great for lunch, dinner with friends, or date night.

Ok, where should I begin…..the lighting and ambience was just NOT it. Not what I was expecting at all. Harsh lighting and terrible seating arrangement. There’s a wall that separates half of the dining area which is just not giving. The waitstaff was just terrible. I had to ask for my food 5 different times, 2 times to the other waitress helping out the people next to our table because our waitress was no where to be found. Finally when our waitress passed I asked her 2 additional times, and she says its almost ready well this went on the entire 1 1/2 we where there….untimely I never go my food and everyone else around us got there later than us and did get their food, finished eating and left before I received anything. I finally asked the lady who looked like she was in charge but was so overwhelmed and could not handle the pressure. She was RUDE and dismissed the fact that my food was never brought out and said I wouldn’t be charged for it since I didn’t get it. Uh, HELLO…Captain Obvious. I would never go back to this place and would not recommend it.

The food is actually very good from here, we love it however, when we ordered to go, they forgot to add in one of the salads we ordered. Not only that, but it just seems like they are always so stingy with the amount of toppings on the salad. Example, the Kani salads. Staff in the evening seems like they slack.

We had a very good experience here. Sushi rolls were awesome, our waitress, Shanelle, was extremely friendly and quick with food and drinks. To begin with, we were served complimentary soup and cucumber salad. We would love to come back.
