Cruiser Plotline
Shocked to see how terribly reviewed this place is. It’s no different than any other zoo cafe I’ve ever been to. Food was fine. Chicken tenders were large and filling. Staff was nice. Tables were clean. 3 stars because it’s obviously not phenomenal food or prices. But it’s exactly what I was expecting.

The Zoo allows you to bring your own food in. If you want to eat hot food with out carrying your lunch around for hours there are a few dine-in restaurants. Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, it’s basic/ mediocre food. I had pizza and fries. My food was hot and good. The restaurant was very clean and well staffed. It was a nice atmosphere to sit inside and relax for a while. Personally, I would prefer to eat here instead of carrying a small cooler around all day.

The food at the Tuxedo Grill is well below par, as the cheeseburgers are flavorless and the fries are gritty and lack in salt or any flavor whatsoever. The drink options are quite plentiful, but the lemonade is my go to. The only reason that this establishment did not receive a 1 star was due to the actual building itself. The building is spacious, offers a great deal of seating arrangements (outdoor patio and indoor dining), and the decor fits right in with the zoo experience. The food needs an upgrade and the processes concerning how the food is maintained to fill orders requires revision also. The location within the zoo is quite ideal. The approach to the restaurant is inviting and welcoming as is the interior decor, but the food and prices need to be amended and improved accordingly.

We were visiting from the UK, so didn’t bring our own food with us. Decided to have lunch here, prices were expensive, had to wait for fries, service could of been better overall. I had the chicken and fries, and I actually liked the food, just not the price. Other half had chicken burger and fries, it was okay. Were not used to our chicken burgers being kept in a vat of unknown liquid .

We were there later than their usual hours due to a special event at the zoo, but even then, the food was terrible, It was the last scrape in the tray, this would not be bad, but it had stayed out so long it had lost all form possible. The service was nearly non-existant, except for.the ladies with the hot chocolate, they were lifesavers for my family. There was no atmosphere, as the chairs were nearly all up on top of the tables, and the staff were nice, but counting down until it was time to go. Which they did, while we were still in the restaurant. Yep, just us left in the building. I’ve been here before when i would have said 5/5, but this night they just didn’t have it.
