With high-quality made-to-order burgers, a ‘come as you are’ environment and a strange reverence for Chuck Norris, there’s no place else quite like Twisted Root. Way back before ‘gourmet burgers’ was a thing, Chefs Jason Boso & Quincy Hart decided to build a restaurant around half-pound, fresh ground burgers with a menu that allowed customers to build their own burgers with a list of crazy and inventive toppings. The two met in culinary school, after jobs in stock brokerages and telephone line repair. After paying their dues working the line at The Four Seasons & Pappas Bros, Jason & Quincy finally opened Twisted Root Burger Co. in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas, Texas in 2006.
Chain with gourmet beef, turkey & vegan burgers, plus spiked shakes. Some locations have game meats. Based on 268 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.4 stars. Price $$

DELICIOUSNESS!!! Went to tell the manager to give our compliments to the chef/cook that the burgers were the best and cooked to perfection and it turns out she was the one who cooked our burgers and took our orders. Quality food cooked to perfection, great service, clean restaurant and we highly recommend this establishment. Thank you ma’am for taking pride in your establishment we really enjoyed our dining experience!

Great place for a burger. The thin sliced onion rings were also great. They have a pickle bar with multiple types of pickles to add to your burger.

Fun place!!! Outdoor games and outdoor seating for nice days. Funny Chuck Norris sayings and silly decorations. Home made pickles are sooo tasty. Burgers are really yummy. Service is fantastic. You get your own soda or lemonade but they also have a bar. Everyone is friendly. Fries are tasty!!

First time stopping in here for lunch. Loved the atmosphere and the menu all sounded amazing. Loved the music playing and all the signs they had up on everything. Very well thought little restaurant!

We ordered a mushroom burger and a veggie burger. Both were bland. The veggie burger fell apart easily. The French fries were overcooked with lots of dark end pieces like we got the bottom of the fry bag. The pickle bar was a nice touch. There was only no-name soda. No Coke, no Dr. Pepper, no Pepsi. Servers were friendly.

This place is festive and worth the stop. Hamburgers for those who want them to the restaurant on the right and tacos and Mexican food to the one on the left with a shared patio. The drinks were great and so was the atmosphere. Dog friendly patio too!

Juicy burgers! I had the Western, along with cheese fries. Husband had the Big Tex burger. Food was delicious and the service was phenomenal! The young man Sam, calling out the orders was so full of energy and made it fun!

This was my first time at a Twisted Root Burger and I was impressed. They have a ton of different awesome sounding burgers. The patty was very tasty and I would certainly go back. I also had the onion rings and fried pickles that were delicious.

Atmosphere isn’t bad. Food is ok. The burgers aren’t as good as I was told. The fries are nothing to write home about. The onion strings are really good. The meat needs seasoning… would probably try again, if in the area.
