With high-quality made-to-order burgers, a ‘come as you are’ environment and a strange reverence for Chuck Norris, there’s no place else quite like Twisted Root. Way back before ‘gourmet burgers’ was a thing, Chefs Jason Boso & Quincy Hart decided to build a restaurant around half-pound, fresh ground burgers with a menu that allowed customers to build their own burgers with a list of crazy and inventive toppings. The two met in culinary school, after jobs in stock brokerages and telephone line repair. After paying their dues working the line at The Four Seasons & Pappas Bros, Jason & Quincy finally opened Twisted Root Burger Co. in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas, Texas in 2006.

The food was good, stood out about the flavor of our burgers. The onion strings and French fries were so good. I think if you are going to have bottles out on a table (Mustard, Ketchup, Assorted other things) you should wipe them down occasionally. I did like having them on the table. Nice assortment of beers and a full bar. Atmosphere is beautiful if you sit on the patio. The man made lake is beautiful complete with turtles, fish, and a duck.

Burgers are great here however I went with a more healthy salad. First time trying a salad and I have to say, I am impressed. The portion was good sized, I got the SOB (South of the Border) salad. It had black beans, tortilla strips and Cotija Cheese tossed in a Southwest style ranch that was very good. I added grilled chicken, it had great char flavor and it was big and juicy. Free pickles are always a hit.

Very friendly service. It’s a very relaxing restaurant to enjoy drinks, food and friends. I didn’t find it overcrowded and food didn’t take long at all. Food was okay, I wouldn’t say the best in town but since the atmosphere was great everything was enjoyable. For reference burgers and fries are sold separately. Definitely will go back!

Burgers and Beer done right. I loved the atmosphere. The service was a little weird. We sat at a table that didn’t have a waitress? It was awkward having to get up and walk to the counter or flag someone down for anything, all night long.

It looked so good I forgot to take a photo of my food. We ordered and got our food quickly. I had the ain’t no chicken club and the green bean and carrot fries. They were so good! They had a variety of delicious sauces to dip things in. They even turned the TVs to March Madness when we asked for it. Their watermelon tea was unique. The place was clean. I would eat here again.

It was an awesome experience. The food was great overall, and we especially loved that everything was homemade in house. We also really love that all of these sodas from the fountain machine we’re also homemade styles and made with real cane sugar.

Best spot in town for juicy burgers and hot crispy fries! The Tootsies Hot chicken is nothing to shy away from either. Stunning views from the pet friendly patio really make this the experience you are looking for. Staff are just the best for getting you taken care of. Another win for the Twisted Root brand. I tried the “Vegabond,” which is a plant-based vegan burger. It is made with black beans, brown rice, chickpeas, and quinoa; it comes with red onions and avocado. I ordered chips too. I must say that it was okay and that the prices were reasonable. I will return to this place and try other burgers. The place was packed around 12:30 pm. The music selection is excellent, and the atmosphere is amicable. My only complaint is that they announce every single order, which is annoing and unnecessary since they provide you with a pager to notify you when your order is ready. Please, stop yelling the orders into the microphone.
