It was even better than the reviews, which are awesome. I had the best pastrami sandwich in a very long time. They were very nice and friendly even though I went in just before closing.

Been going here for about 20 years, and I’ve never had a bad meal until today. The new management have changed the food and not for the better. Mozzarella sticks were cold and stale even though they had just opened. The fries were undercooked, and they also got some of the order wrong. The burgers were just okay, but used to be amazing. Why fix what wasn’t broken? Lastly the vibe of the place just feels empty and lifeless now. It’s lost that charm it used to have. Overall very disappointing, and I don’t think I’ll ever be going back.

New owners will always have hiccups, but this place needs to get rid of the kids up front working the register and making sandwiches. They are fighting with each other, made the sandwich completely wrong. When I told them it was wrong she said it was right. Place is crashing and burning quick. Manager needs to take over fast start training the staff and get back to reality before their submarine is sunk.

Been going here for decades. Best burgers and subs ANYWHERE. Now with recent new ownership… they told me the menu would stay the same and for the most part it has… except for the deep fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks. I believe they were previously frozen and were perfect. Now they are house made ? No flavor. Not crispy. Very bland and almost doughy. Very disappointing. It’s the little things long term customers count on with their comfort food. If it’s not broken…. Don’t fix it…

I’ve been going there for over 20 years and have never had a bad meal until today. They changed the bread as well as use less meat and it’s now a very basic sandwich. It’s unfortunate that the best sandwich shop in town is now just a small notch above subway in my opinion.

Ordered the meatball sub. Not impressed. There were maybe three meatballs on the small size sub.

Ordered a burger with ketsup and mayo it came with everything on it. They use a lot less meat than Steve did and that’s why we always went there for a sandwich instead of the chains. Very clean inside and super friendly.

This was the best sandwich shop in town but the old guy called it quits and sold the business. Just like so many business people that don’t know anything about a business before they buy it the new people immediately changed things that worked for decades. I walked in and almost thought I had walked into the wrong establishment then I was smugly told it was under new ownership . That’s not a good thing. The prices are higher, the food is worse, and the atmosphere stinks. Let me sum up what it has become. I was asked if I wanted avocado on my roast beef sandwich . I went back to the office with my lunch in hand, 18$ poorer after only buying a 12” sandwich and a coke and with the first bite it became clear that it wasn’t even the same sandwich. Note to the owner of this soon to fail establishment: You can’t buy a business that has been successful for 30 years and then change everything about what made it successful and expect to make it. Best of luck I will never be back.

Super sad day!! Tried US Sub base today 1st time since the new owners took over. The quality has gone down and the price has gone up. I can’t believe the huge soggy potato twist things they call fries. Burger was dry and sad with a new bun that was not good at all. I’m so bummed they changed for the worse. Guess it’s off the list now

U.S. Sub Base was bought out, remodeled and while the store looks nice, it’s staffed with a bunch of kids who struggle to get the order correct. My biggest issue however is the new owners kept the same menu but changed how they make the food. The bread was a huge selling point for going there prior to new ownership. Now the bread is boring, dry and honestly, The sandwich tasted exactly like those pre-made subs you get wrapped in plastic from Walmart. Huge letdown. I’ll be going to Capriotti’s or Port of subs for sandwiches in the area. Pretty bummed out that they destroyed the name and the tradition that was part of that location.
