When you need some Korean food quick. Nice service, Korean telenovela while we eat. The fried dumplings are pretty good.

Solid Korean spot that’s accessible from center city. My friend and I split the LA Galbi and Soon Doo Boo special. The portions weren’t huge but it was enough to fill us up and tasted good.

i’m extremely disappointed to write a one star review, especially because i was so looking forward to going here. i ordered the ganpoog ki and shrimp dumplings and my friend ordered one of the seafood ramens. when the food came out, it looked delicious. the dumplings were very oily, but pretty good. my friend and i are both muslim, so once food came out we had to confirm the ramen was halal. we were told it was, but then the waiter took back his statement and said actually it was cooked in beef broth. the menu specifies which items are cooked in beef broth and this item had no mention of it anywhere. after i explained that to him, he gave us an extremely hard time and said we should have just known. but why would some menu items specify that it’s cooked in beef broth and some not have any mention of it? my friend didn’t want to create a problem, so she said it’s fine and she’ll just order a different ramen. we waited for her new ramen and ate my shrimp in the meantime. the shrimp was fine, but half the plate was salad and rice cost extra. for the amount paid, rice definitely shouldn’t have been extra, or there should have been more shrimp. once we finished my dish, we got the bill and realized they never put an order in for my friend’s other dish and we’d waited for nothing. the other ramen was comped after a lot of back and forth with the waiter, but he seemed unapologetic. we were shocked as to why they didn’t put in the order for her other dish if she obviously couldn’t eat this one. at the end, we asked for a box for the beef ramen, so we could at least give it to someone so the food wouldn’t be wasted, but the waiter said he didn’t charge us for if so we can’t have it, and he told me they were just going to throw it out in the kitchen i’ve never experienced service like this and i’m genuinely so sad it ruined our experience because this was a place i was really excited to try 🙁

U-Town was my comfort food-of-choice during undergrad. the food was always stellar, and it continues to be in my top 3 if not #1 Korean restaurant in the United States—this is after MANY restaurants in MANY cities from NYC to Tulsa to Los Angeles to Portland. the staff is amazing and sweet. in fact after our visit this week, they still remembered my partner and I after 3+ years. forever and always grateful for the time spent at U-Town. this is a restaurant in UCity that you don’t want to miss. highly recommend the japchae, dumplings, duk mandu guk, bibim bap, and deok boki. wish ya’ll the best and continued success.

Long wait for food to come out when the store is busy, but overall fairly decent food. Gotta love the tofu soup and hot bibimbap during cold weather. Their cold buckwheat noodle is also quite nice for the price. Would recommend if you have enough time to wait for the food.

Twice I have come here during open hours and twice the place has been closed. I can see the waiter inside having lunch. Please if you are going to close down for lunch update the hours so you don’t waste people’s time. Other than that the place is good.

No nonsense food here. I would go for the traditional Korean dishes rather than the Chinese-Korean fusion ones because they seem to specialize in those. All the soup-based food is amazing.

Best Korean food in West Philly! Everything is good, but me and my partner’s go-to’s are the soondubu, pajeon, japchae bap, and the bibimbap.

If your kitchen is closed at 8:30pm, please change it on Google because it misleads people. Also sometimes we go to utown and it’s randomly closed in the middle of the day, wastes our time
