This was more than a meal it was a true cultural experience. The food was amazing but more important was the atmosphere created by Maya. She welcomes you look your mother and teaches you about her country while serving your food. Prepare to spend some time here it is not a rushed meal, but well worth the time.

Wish I had visited this restaurant sooner! We had a vegetarian and meat sampler platter with lamb and beef. Ordered spicy. It was ALL delicious. Loved the communal dining experience with our group. Can’t wait to come back. Maya is a lovely kind lady and made the meal a wonderful experience. She is there to help with any questions you have. Note, this a meal and experience all in one! Even my 6 year old wants to come back soon.

I live in the Springs but had never been here although the write ups were intriguing. I started with the tea. The owner makes a special blend. expect floral and citrus notes So good. It is pre sweetened but just enough. I then ordered the vegetarian combo. I don’t normally order spicy but it was a Great choice. The spicy does leave a finish in your mouth so be ready. The owner came out and showed me how to eat using just the bread and my hands. What a fun experience.

The place was empty. We waited for the Chef to answer the phone, accept reservations, cook, serve, cashier us. Smh. Poor service – no welcome greeting or anything, Extremely bland food (I prepare these dishes at home too), tasted reheated. Stale baklava. Maybe dinner service is better?! I MIGHT try it since we want it to be good so badly.

Food and decor were good, but the service was not. The woman serving us wasn’t friendly at all and was annoyed when we asked questions about the menu. She was like that with everyone in restaurant..

Small dining room so make a reservation. The food is fantastic from the entrees to the desserts. My wife loves the orange tea and the Ethiopian coffee is strong and very pleasant compliment to the meal. The room is decorated in artwork depicting Ethiopian culture and history. If you are lucky enough you can enjoy the sounds of music coming from the kitchen. The menu has some great information about the rich and long history of Ethiopia. The items on the menu are as unique and diverse as the countries culture and offers vegan and vegetarian options as well as seafood, chicken and beef. Service is top notch and all your meals are prepared with love and attention to detail. Spice levels can be adjusted if you like a little more kick to your food but for the most part is toned down on the heat level for most. Don’t leave without trying the fudge like texture of the flourless chocolate cake. It is not frowned upon if you lick your plate clean, trust me, you’ll be tempted too!

What an incredible experience. I’ve never been through anything like this. Wonderful woman serving us. Incredible food. Cozy and (likely) authentic as I’ve never been to Ethiopia. Cannot give enough stars. Such a hidden gem.

We found this place completely on accident. You wouldn’t even know it was a restaurant until you read the sign. Neither my wife or I, had ever tried Ethiopian food, so we figured we’d give it a shot. Wow, were we surprised. The waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, she helped us navigate our way through something we had no idea how/what to eat. The food was super tasty. I ended up having something with lamb…i don’t remember the name but it was excellent. The rolled up bread/crape thing was different but excellent. For dessert we had the baklava which was amazing. We wished we lived closer, because we’d become regulars at Uchenna.
