Friendly staff, my to go order took about 15 minutes so I would recommend to order ahead if you’re in a rush. Togo containers kept the noodles and toppings separate which I really appreciated. Cold noodles was the way to go for a hot day. 100% recommend

A restaurant specializing in udon with craftsmanship. Karurame recently opened, but I recommend this place more. I also like that it is a standalone building that is not crowded. There aren’t very many seats, but it’s always full. The noodles are alive and have good elasticity. I ordered a new menu today and was impressed. I recommend you to try the curry udon.

No wait for a 730pm party of 3 and the service was super fast. Must have is the Tonkotsu udon, it’s a legit Tonkotsu broth. The mentai cream was also a favorite. The corn tempura wasn’t sweet but it was interesting. The tempura udon had a full side of tempura, the udon was as expected of a nice, basic udon.

Great udon but… The service is blindingly fast so if you are looking for a longer enjoyable experience don’t order everything at once. Our appetizer, age dashi tofu, came after our meals, was not hot, not crispy and the sauce was not thick and sweet enough. There was a ton of katsuo boshi on it if you like that.

We love the Mugizo in Japantown SF. Tried this latest one in San Jose. Mmmmmmmmnot great. So disappointing. Wife’s curry udon bowl was way too thick on the curry. My Tonkatsu Chashu udon was fine really, but the pork was nothing special and the tempura shrimp’s batter was too thick. DO NOT ORDER THE SUNTORY BEER!!! $11 for about a 10-ounce glass. Totally weird pricing. Atmosphere is like a nice Denny’s. Too bad. The search continues for a truly outstanding udon experience in the South Bay…

Sort of expensive, and not great. We had the tonkotsu deluxe udon and niku udon. Broth was not bad, but the noodles were soggy to the point that they would break from lifting them up with chop sticks.
