On July 1st 2021, The Last Kitchen was transformed to become our new Italian Steakhouse, Ultima Cucina. Our new executive chief is Montrell Jones, the updated restaurant concept will offer classic Italian dishes in a upscale environment.
Ultima Cucina will embrace the heart and soul of Italian cuisine: made from scratch, high-quality ingredients, farm to table, ample portions and rich, Mediterranean flavors… with a nod to St. Louis’ rich Italian culture. Nightly specials from our inhouse butcher shop and home made pastas. The updated branding for Ultima Cucina will highlight the simple, delicious food with a cozy, yet elegant neighborhood feel.

Ultima Cucina provides a fabulous dining experience in the heart of downtown Saint Louis. Everything is made fresh everyday. The meats are aged and prepared onsite or are the proper goods imported from Italy. The sauces are fresh and delicious, nothing from a can.

Along the Way in USA & Beyond
The restaurant is situated in The Last Hotel. We had the chicken parmesan, spinach salad and goat cheese bread. All of the food was delicious. The atmosphere was very nice, pillows along cushioned seating is a comfortable touch. I enjoyed the music that played any classic songs. Our waitress was extremely attentive even during a busy time. I would highly recommend.

Excellent food. The chicken parm was superb. The salad was exceptionally tasty….spinach, goat cheese, lightly candied walnuts, and apple slices with a vinaigrette. It was a genuine winner! There was a bit of a wait to get in but worth it and we were treated well.

It looked amazing and had a good atmosphere to the place. Everyone seem to be having a good time and the food was good. The biggest issue is the ones that keep coming up of staffing issues. The staff that do show up are great but they can only do so much when they’re doing the work of 3 people. Overall if you’re not in a rush though it’s a great place to go. The bar is lovely too

Wow – just wow! My friend & I only had appetizers at the restaurant, but they were simply amazing. We tried the fried cauliflower which is truly an explosion of flavor in your mouth. Also tried the baked goat cheese, which was prepared with a marinara sauce that I was very unsure I’d like, but it also was an incredible mixture of flavors. We split the gooey cake for dessert & that might just be my new favorite dessert. Absolutely delish!

The food was great but the service was terrible . Our waitress never came over so another server refilled our water and took our order . We told her we would like to order drinks and she never came back . Someone else dropped off our food and they told us our server would be with us shortly but that never happened . She finally showed up to drop off our check and didn’t even ask if we wanted dessert… very disappointed!

Was staying at the last hotel for a business trip. Had 2 meals here. First meal got the chicken wings. Server was very accommodating but the wings were overly salty. Ordered a comeback burger second night and the service was less then average and the burger itself was overcooked and average at best. It’s not great considering the food options in the area but it’s definitely not the worst in hotel restaurant I’ve had

We ordered the fettuccine and a sausage pizza and the fettuccine was the best that I’ve ever had. The pizza was also delicious, great sausage taste, perfect amount of cheese and sauce. The crust was also perfect a little crisp on the edge and chewy in the middle, yummy!
