Dysfunctional Dad
Holy Cow this place is hidden in plain sight. The food- delicious/ fresh and you can tell they know what they are doing with preparation and visual setup of the plates and bowls. I didn’t have to worry about eating raw fish from here.

This place I notice has a lot of pick up orders not much people dine in. We came in for dinner. We came because I saw they had rice dishes. My daughter loves ebi sushi it’s all she eats at a sushi place, which she mentioned that it tasted weird. Our food was okay. We enjoyed the chicken Fried Rice. We had to ask to refill our water twice being that our server was busy talking with the other boy that works there.

I’m so glad my usual spot was too busy(due to a local event filling the parking lot) and I was on the hunt for an alternative. We ended up finding a hidden in plain sight gem on Pac Ave. We walked in and ordered the combo with several meals to last us the weekend vs just one dish. We waited about 15 minutes, as promised, in the not very busy lobby. First of all, the rice is cooked perfectly, so sticky and, well, perfect. This is the base for everything else tasting amazing. All of the food was flavorful, prepared with care, and exceeded our expectations. My fave is always chicken fried rice and this was my favorite one yet, and I had the California rolls with delicious wasabi. We also got sweet and sour chicken, which was great. Highly recommend and seriously can’t wait to go back. Sorry, old spot, but I’ve found my new favorite.

Have ordered take out from here for years. Last two times food and service have really declined. Fried rice used to be the best but not the last time. Asked for no sauce on Poke but cook did not want to comply. Both hubby and I had gut issues the next day. They have lost our business forever.

My wife and I have enjoyed Umai for years, but a couple of recent visits changed that. Their fried rice was our favorite and it wasn’t near as good last time. And last night we got 2 poke bowls with her sauce on the side, as we always do, and we were told they can’t do that anymore. It seems simple enough to leave the sauce off. Worst of all we both had stomach trouble the next day. We’ll be finding ourselves a new spot, I’m sorry to say.

Umai teriyaki is one of my mom’s favorite places to go. She lives over near Spokane now. But she still comes every year on her birthday for her favorite sushi rolls. And whenever she walks through the door they make her feel welcome. The service is good, the food is good and you usually get it pretty quick.
