The place wasn’t too busy, maybe 4 tables of people and the rest of the tables open. There were 4 employees in the front of house as well. We ordered the Umami Burger and The Black Garlic Burger. After we put in the order, the server kind of disappeared. We were sitting for a bit and no one went to check on the food. Finally we asked to see if our order is ready and it came out. The burgers were suprisingly much much better than I expected. The burgers were insanely juice and the cheese was melted to perfection. I really really liked the food but the service was the complete opposite. We waited about 15 more minutes until we flagged down an employee (wasn’t our server) for the check.

I give 1 star because the service was great the problem is that I went to eat and the food is horrible I would not eat there not even for free everything that’s on the website is false I think that’s how it used to be in the past now they sell trash I was expecting the burgers to be good but nothing was good the wings are plant base but picture show regular wings they show they have Diet Coke cans and have Pepsi product you can see I came in very excited how ever I left very sad will never come back here

Son recommended this place because he know I love a great burger place, he wasn’t wrong. We both had the Black Garlic Burger, Tots with three cheese stuffed inside and parmesan sprinkled on the outside. Had the Garlic Fries, Sweet Potato and one other. Adrian was our server and made some great recommendations. They make an amazing Bloody Mary here as well. Quick and friendly service and lots of room for everyone.

I was happy to see they offer a vegan burger. I have some allergies so I informed the server of my gluten allergy and arranged to get the vegan burger without a bun. The server was awesome! They checked with the chef. Then things got weird because the chef reported that the impossible burger has some gluten in it. I cook impossible burgers at home all the time and they do not contain gluten. I don’t know that I would trust this restaurant because they aren’t in the know about the ingredients in the products they serve. Or perhaps they didn’t feel comfortable because their kitchen has contamination which suggests to me poor kitchen hygiene. Whatever reason it was they were unable to serve me a burger which should have been able to be served to me. I wouldn’t eat here again.

I had Umami once up in Pasadena over 10 yrs ago and it was really good. Today was my second time and I was super excited but unfortunately just did not taste the same. They used to ask how you like your meat done. Waitress never asked. Maybe she forgot to ask but either way I was assuming since they didnt ask that all meats were cooked medium.

Very unfortunate experience with the manager at the Irvine Spectrum location tonight. After receiving our orders for the Double Earth Burger, we both (being 3+ year vegans) noticed the difference with the Impossible Burger we had for the first time here last week which we really enjoyed vs the burger patty’s that arrived this time around. The staff understood immediately and couldn’t completely confirm but were really accommodating and understanding. A manager came out and she was quick to be condescending in nature with how certain she was it was correct to order and repeatedly asked if we had impossible before or eaten it at umami burger which I confirmed we had for the first time last week. She was very dismissive of any reasoning we had and seemed extremely annoyed to the point of comping everything without trying to alleviate any doubt and before us even making the request at first. Even before entering the place, I did notice even during dinner time on a busy Saturday night there was such a light crowd just like the week prior which made me wonder. The staff was great and had nothing to do with the negative experience and like I said, last week the food was really great. I did see the reviews weren’t very favorable and this seems to justify why. There are plenty of great establishments surrounding so it’s a wonder why they would be so quick to boot a couple out for questioning an order when there was such a light crowd at 7pm on a Saturday night. Anyways, no discrediting the food or overall experience. The food isn’t cheap for what you get but if you have the ambiance, friendly people, and quality it’s worth it. I think I’ll stick with going back to the original location I used to frequent in Anaheim whenever I’m by the Packing House!
